The Linx 7 ran ok, on par with the rest, redHotPoker ran, but there was some noticeable slowdown on occasions - but to be honest it doesnt seem like a fast paced game anyway!

So after a bit of playing, some food for thought...
All the cheap tablets have very limited internal storage, meaning the layouts/roms need to be on a MicroSD and when using MFME5 the access speed of slow storage was very noticeable.. on all devices (Or it was the 2000 roms in the one directory?)
Running emulators is always going to be a CPU intensive job, so heat and poor battery times are expected.
Display scaling: All my testing was done on W10 - and I tried a 7", 8" and 10" - which all has a "recommended" display scaling level that windows auto set. Changing this setting often made things a little easier to read, but overall things are difficult to see in my opinion.
Due to a varying quality of Layouts out there, many of which have been optimised for a landscape display lob in a high res but physically small screen things are just too damn small with many of the current layouts.
Im not sure which device is 'best' - I need to clean up my roms (2000+) as most of the pain was caused by the slow storage...but I doubt I will keep the Hi8 (I borrowed the rest) - so if anyone wants a cheap tablet? :oD

Some great info for people there zakkie.
I would definitely suggest a 10" screen, everything else, is very much depending on your budget.

I went to argos this morning bought a linx vision 8 gaming tablet, they have them on offer for £100.
It has x5 8300 cpu.
normal machines run fine, mpu4 video is laggy.
I have still got the linx 1010b on the way from ebay which I am going to send straight back as the cpu is poo.
conclusion is you need at least a X5 8300 cpu for mfme v5.

Lol.
It goes full screen but can't get back out of it with no escape key, so have to press the windows key and quit mfme to change machine.

Gone for a Linx Vision myself (£69.99 on Amazon) & want to add that Scorp 5/Adder 5 run at about 80% speed. Scorp 4/MPU5 are all good/full speed. 8" screen is just a bit too small but didn't fancy forking out another £50 to upgrade to a 10" when it's just for train journeys or lying in bed.

Really Alth. What chip is that? The Atom? I'm sure that's what my Linx had. To be fair the linx was a cheap little tablet that I had before mfme v5.

I haven't one of the tweaks i use is to enable 'high performance mode' in power settings it makes the tablet quicker as it uses burst mode more.

Is yours the 8300 cherry trail cpu Richy? I noticed I do have to have my Dell plugged into to the wall to get better performance. Even if I put it into performance mode on battery mode it doesn't perform as good as being plugged in.
