Just wandered what people thought. ?????

http://www.quicksilv...quires-talarius

Another company that does not look after the Paying Customer :( But thats just my opinion. Percentages are absolutely CRAP grrrrrrrrrrrr, since they took over...........Looks LIKE im gonna find somewhere else to spend my £££££££. Or just give up on gaming in venues.

PS. Thanx to all the Creators and Layout Designers for FruitEMU. Many HOURS of enjoyment has been spent downloading and playing the machines. WHO do i send my £20,000 too????? thats how much i have LOST in them MACHINES. LOL

Been mentioned ages back..... Like Cashino (Praesepe, aka Gauselmann Group, Bell-Fruit's old owners), taking over the Teddy's chain not that long back.

Speaking of which, could be Novamatic could be forced to sell some Quicksilver sites in some selected areas, due to their dominance.

Stan your correct they will have a monopoly. Same as us too what happened to us well when I was at SG/Barcrest . Once Hills had our SSBT`s installed. There was not much left that we could have of installed into any other places. Due to having a monopoly on the market.

Having said that. Novamatic took over one of Blackpools and with getting new machines in (I wouldn't say vivid adders and ladders 3 player is new) the percentages remained the same (ie party time double decker at 88%) so it says anyway in alpha

I dont think they did, Nobles kept Coral Island as it had the Casino, which is the reason the machines havent really been changed in a few years

It's almost like they are trying to create an oligopoly -a complete monopoly on the market.

I must admit (since the take over of many Nobles arcades),having played in an arcade in Preston-The slots play a lot better and they always have promotions on.

Whether that is rolled out across there arcades,i'm unsure as it is the only one ive played in-and that was 6 months ago-so could have changed now.

Coral Island has been up for sale the past 10years plus!-But whos gona buy a failing industry now!

It was owned by brothers-1 owned and ran Funland and the other Coral.

Apparently they had an almighty bust up and parted company.

I'm unsure who owns either now, but I do know that both arcades are sinking ships. :nah:

A bulldozer would be great along the sea front to mirror the fantastic  work done along the sea shore.

The arcades are finished in most coastal resorts and are not helped by the councils they are under.

Another 5,maybe 10 years and I see Blackpool resembling the likes of Morecambe -another coastal ghost town.!

Hmmm okay.

When did that bail out? It was up for grabs a couple years back. I thought it had due to sense of change within coral island. Or maybe that's down to the way the arcade just is?

Correct..... the Nobels chain split to still be Nobles, and Oak Amusements, then obviously Nobles went to Admiral (AKA Novamatic), and Oak continued on it's own, though I have a feeling a new outfit now runs it, judging from what the one in Ilkeston is like now.

More info for Oak Amusements here from Companies House....

As for buying up places like Funland etc, JEM (Known here as Mellors Group, Nottingham), not long took over Fantasy Island in Ingomells, near Skegness.

The 5p/10p arcade I name it lol.

Very few around now-least you can change £20 and get a decent play mate.

Did you win???

Yeah was a huge family feud and I believe it was over property rental!!!

Funny how people with money come to blows over it :err:

And between the early eighties and late 90's Coral(in particular) was raking it in from the commercial units surrounding it.

A mate of mine reckons they were making in excess of a million a year just on the rents from the various business's that they leased out to.

Pure greed and now they are more than up against it-my heart bleeds, not! ;)  ;)

The final arcade has an Extreme machine, but its EPOCH (Speeding Demons is it called?) Don't think that would have help though...

There is one more arcade further over called coopers. It's next to the carpark near B&Ms (right side of pleasure land arcade)
