.hi folks,ive got a question for the experts. how do i add sound to the previously mute system80`s? im thinking in particular of CC`s golden steppa classic and alex1s dx of the same machine...

 

help appreciated as always

You need to add the number in the port box in the configuration, mate.  Sound on System 80 is usually number 29, or 59.  It's 59 on Golden Steppa.

its greyed out ploggy mate so i cant change any values...

You need go into Edit Mode first.  CTRL+E is the shortcut, or you can click on Design/Edit Mode.  Make sure to save the layout after the changes.

this is what the FME community is all about.... a 10yr+ old previously mute layout now with fixed sound sorted in less than 20 minutes...all by the use of shared knowledge

You're absolutely right, mate.  A community is all about helping other people out, and sharing knowledge when it's needed.

 

If you want to add the extra meter/sound affects to the layout as well, mate, just follow the screenshot attached.  This setup will only work on the Golden Steppa layout, and doesn't cross-over to the other System 80 machines emulated.

sorted ... it would be nice to upload this as a fixed layout - would i have to ask CC first ? (obviously i take no credit for anything)

You should never have slides/sounds in the Meter off sounds! That probably means the Triacs aren't set up properly, Slide sounds should always be in the left column

Yeah, I know that mate.  It's just how that particular layout was setup.  All the ports were signed to the meters.

Another one Fortune Trail that's mute-have any sounds been found for that?

Would be great to hear that running in all it's glory.

thanks for the information ploggy, i've updated my golden steppa layout and will update the download shortly

You'd be better off using this one instead, mate.  All the lamp/port errors have been fixed with this one.  You might need to do one single lamp, though, so it's completed fully.  It's the 'No Change Lamp', that goes in the little yellow rectangle on the top glass.  You'll be able to see where I mean when you load the layout.

No I can't find it either now lol

Bloody annoying as am sure have played it on the emu mute,

Sure I saw it been played on Y.tube the other day too and cant find that either-il keep looking and get back to you
