Joined a site at weekend, had a decent deposit bonus so had a tenna.

Had a decent run so tried to withdraw, get warning id lose my depost bonus but was no loss to me.

Then get popup tells me i cant withdraw and to contact support.

After a lengthy chat i was told to send picture of back and front of card i made deposit with to verify my account.

Well this is new to me, so i did the deed and covered my card number etc.

Now they are asking for utility bill and driving licence, wtf is all that about?.

Didnt get any of this when i gave them MY cash.

Anyone had this experience with similar sites??

What shall i put here?

you get this on all online sites , randomly i've personally only had to do it once but its in the small print.

also depends how much you won if it was a large amount then they may of thought this is dodgy. how much did you win off the £10??

Many online sites, require a photo id like driving licence or passport, plus a utility bill not older than 3 months and a copy of back and front of card used, with certain numbers blanked out.

Some UK based can auto verify you via the electoral roll. Bookies sites used to when I gambled a lot years ago.

Some people normally keep their card and photo id stored on their device and refresh the utility bill when they need to.

In a way it helped me cut down my gambling, having the hassle of getting verified and some dodgy operators using excuses still not to pay out.

One site I never had to verify was starspins and any winning have been paid to my PayPal within hours. It's the only site I now occasionally have a gamble on once every month or so with a £50 limit lol.

Never done them Jay2, to be honest, they're a waste of money on the card so I prefer loose change in a real fruity or just fake coins in a fruity in MFME in good old FME land. This way you don't lose real cash, you can't get addicted to gambling, and if you set yourself a time limit, for example, an hour at morn, an hour at evening, you'll be OK. I have set myself this regeme and never gone on any online casino/slot sites apart from free ones like this and I used to be on the mecca.

They're presumably blaming it on money laundering prevention?

Yes to help protect them and you.

Back in the early 2000's I never ever had to verify anywhere, but nowadays, it's more and more likely you have to verify via documents being sent.

I guess most don't want you to have to verify before you play, because a lot of people, would just say, forget it, I'll go elsewhere. I know in the past, when I've seen all players, will be required to blah, blah, for a withdrawal, I haven't bothered even signing up. Some say, in some cases we may not be able to verify you automatically, I used to take a chance on them and most of the time no problems.

There has been a couple where it's UK based and it says, to auto verify, we will require to access your credit information, tick here to accept. I've generally no problem with that, better IMO, then having to send passport details to Malta or similar.

Also, a part of gambling commission rules/regulations with online casinos.... ids and all that, some casinos have a threshold up to 2,300 before they ask you for your ids.

I'm with many sites and a golden rule before you join any site is read the t&cs before you join. :nah:

That way you see fully what yr obligations are as a player and what the site's rules and regs are.

Most uk sites will get your detail from the electoral role(as mentioned)

Best site out there by far is Sky vegas/bet etc-never had a single check made on me and best of all there withdrawal process is instant.

Ive even had withdrawals go in on xmas day and other bank holidays!

Avoid sites that are not governed by the uk gaming board-although thankfully now, anyone from the uk is unlikely to be accepted on a casino site unless they are governed by the uk gaming board.
