So I wanted to play andy capp on MFME so I loaded it up but for some reason the reels aren't showing, I also can't scroll down to them or move the window to make them appear. I also tried this on JPM with sonic with the same result. I tried changing resolutions  but it made no difference. Any idea what to do to fix this?

yes, check the Shrink To Fit checkbox under File -> Preferences and reload the game.

I can't see a preferences under the file tab, there's load game, load state and save state and new layout

clickon file,scroll down to preferences and this dialogue box will pop up.make sure the shrink to fit box is cjecked. also make sure you have direct x installed and updated

Looks like you are using a old version of MFME, you need to use v5.1, not v9

i'm using 9.4 and there is no preferences button under file

i also checked the 10.1a version and that's the same

MFME 5.1 is the latest version from Wizard.

 

You will need 5.1 to play most of the latest games.

v5.0 is good, but v5.1, is the latest and will ensure, nearly every machine so far released, will work properly.
