File Category: MPU4

Lets go back to 1989 with this extra special slot the 4 reel £4,80 version of barcrest's BlackJack Awp
I remember playing this back in 1990 in a greasy spoon in cirencester and been after these roms for a age

BIG thanks goto the Mecca and to...

 Ploggy for uploading said roms,
Pook for his £4 mini layout which i used for 90% of lamp positions etc ( i may redo the £4 version next as only a card reel needed in reel 4!!)

Special Thanks to Booze net for the images he uploaded a while back, which i used parts of them to copy n paste over the ropey flyer i got.
also an image used to identify some of the reel positions, which have been a pig to find and get correct, hopefully they are now we'll see lol.
and for the mage used for the number overlays for the reels
and to whoever else may of contributed with it.

This plays a cracking game which will get you hooked like you were back in '89' all over again!!!
Any errors please let us know and i'll amend if possible.
   Shortcuts are as standard

Fantastic release Vectra.

Never recall this in pubs-but then never been my cup of tea!

I do remember rows of them and similar slots in the arcades-great times and happier times when slots gave you a play for your money, even if they had just done a run of wins.

Machine seems to give a slight card malfunction when gambling-seen the 6 appear and the king ,sometimes when gambling.

Will test the slot in full screen and see if it makes any difference.

I thought this to about the card showing, maybe it's showing you whether to go higher lower or what colour card it is next similar to what red hot poker does with their hidden carss, or maybe it's an emulator glitch we'll see when I remake the original £4 version?

Great stuff, nice to see another MPU4 DX come to life.

You've done a really good job, with the resources available. Surprised it was 1989, my addiction to fruit machines, really started in 1988, with the £4 jackpots and it seemed like I'd been playing them for years before the £4.80 jackpots started to be released.

Loved playing Pook's version on the emulator for years, but this is the AWP  version of Blackjack I remember the most playing. Played it, in The Crystal Rooms, Leicester Square, which was like my second home between 1988 and much of the 1990's. Loved most of the Barcrest MPU4 output around this time, every game it felt possible you could win the jackpot.

Coins in / out sounds added Thanks to Ploggy/ Richy I shall re upload the amended layout later this evening and for those who've downloaded it already here's ploggys reply via the mecca

It looks like you set the token input to 20p cash, instead of 20p token. If you want to set it to 20p token, just put dip switch 1, on (top row) and set the switch number to 8.

You could've added the payout sounds to the layout as well, mate, if you didn't know. Just change them to match the picture attached. Adds to the emulation experience, having payout sounds.

Would this be the same settings for all these mpu4 type of machine's like nickelodeon, take two etc
What about the settings for the £4 bfm's are they the same?

These settings are what most, if not all, MPU4 machines use for the payout sounds.  All the ones I've looked at anyway.  Unless they use hoppers.

BFM's don't work correctly for some reason,  Even though you've got the option to add payout sounds.  You can add meter sounds to Scorpion 1 machines though.

As said via the mecca when 5.2 is released wonder if wizard will label the coin sounds as in
Mpu4 coins/tokens
Scorp4 coins/
Etc for easier application to the layouts

call me thick but where is the switch that needs changing to "8"? for token input
