I have recently aquired a Global Hey Big Spender (Epoch). After some repairs to PSU and MPU board it now works perfectly. Assuming it has a new fully charged battery I would like to know how long I can expect it to hold up the memory, i.e. how long can the machine be left unused and it remembers its settings. Are we talking hours, days, weeks, months. Can someone give me a rough idea.

Potentially years. Worth checking every year just to make sure there are no sign of leakage.

I wouldn't trust a battery attached directly to a board. Best to fly-wire it off remotely.

I have traced the short memory hold up time to a fauly diode DP1.  I have replaced this and the current consumption from the battery is now a few microamps which seems about right.

Having spent hours tracing and fixing damaged tracks that pesky battery is now most certainly on flying leads, unfortunately about 5 years too late !
