Is anyone else sceptical like me, that Black Friday, is like any other sale. Mainly it's tiny discounts and any large discount are off products that were at the Black Friday price previously (or even lower) earlier this year and the company has just ramped up the price for a month before, to say look 50% off etc....

no deal
Argos is a typical example before black friday
for instance i wanted some duvet sets 2 for £30 or £22 each and guess what?
Every store across the whole of the west country only had 1 available then guess what next day the offer ended and there was suddenly 100's available

Around 40 years ago my uncle worked for a company that stocked wall paper and paint supplies.
Every year in there sale they would sell rolls of wallpaper at 1/2 of 1p.
He said that they still made 100% on each purchase in the sale.
My point here is this what ever logo you put on a sale a shop will always be making some marginal profit.
The only slight positive to this years Black Friday deals is that most retail stores and supermarkets are spreading the joy over several days.
I recall shopping in r nearby 24hour Tesco store last year on the Black Friday and it was chaos.
Hundreds of people queuing, then arguing and near on fighting with each other to get a few cut price items-real sad but then the biggest fools were Tesco and other retail outlets who created the mass brawl that took place.
All for a few extra £s off several items.

Why do they sell massive Toblerones in airports?
They won't let you on a plane with blunt nail scissors, but they're happy to sell you spiky, heavy chocolate in the rough shape of a club right there in the airport?

Black Friday, an American import that we can do without, people kicking each other over the last 32” Polaroid TV! It’s embarrassing! Still, I remember reading about someone who was stabbed at the opening of an Ikea!
The thing about bargains is that unless you need it, it’s not really a bargain is it?
Sorry about the rant but so many people go overboard buying tat.

I work for a well known supermarket. Last year they decided to not hold a Black Friday event. This year they are holding it again, but online only. When they had it in the past, it was carnage, like a pack of wolves ripping into a kill. I'm glad they are holding it online. Maybe then we won't have the idiots that turn up about 9pm and get abusive because there are no Black Friday items left.
Come here to post jokes, oh and to play the occasional frutie.

Every plane has an accessible crash-axe, so there are weapons on board if a terrorist wants to get access to them, without using a toblerone!

Just take some Gallium onboard, go to the toilets, scratch the aluminium and put it on the aluminium, couple of hours later the plane will crash.
