One of the most questionable and baffling fruit machine repair ideas I've ever heard of.

With limited success I imagine, once they'd baked the moisture out of any electrolytic capacitors I would expect there to be plenty of problems stored up for the future.

If you do it properly yes, just don't use your household oven lol

Indeed, every article I've read states that DIY reflow is a method of last resort for a board which is otherwise beyond redemption...
But seriously gas mark 8!! (do people still have gas ovens??)
That's around about 230 degrees centigrade which is enough to mess up a number of types of plastics, and goodness knows what else on a board.

at first i laughed out loud and thought `what a f*uck-tard`.......
but then i though its not actuallly that bad - providing you dont melt it on a high heat.
A few days ago i was repairing a sony laptop. after removing all the parts and checking i put it doen to dry joints in a particular area and used a hairdryer on max to heat up the affected area.
it worked a treat for a few days and then repeated its errors.
putting a MB in the oven is not as crazy as it sounds - providing your heating it up and not burning it to a crisp.

horses for courses.
ive got a fan assisted top oven and cook a roast for 8 every week wit great success. My hob is induction ans is instant like gas.

i saw a ps3 board being put in the oven and it seemed to work, pretty sure they put the board in some sort of bag first
