I went with silversprint. Good price, they seem to be quick and the item is insured.
Everything is now sorted

I am going to be buying chasnbons Rio but I am unable to collect myself and was wondering if anyone knew anyone or a courier service who could help.
I am willing to pay £100 cash for the collection / delivery.
Thought I would ask here before I do any digging online for one.
Thanks a lot

Just to say
I'd prefer someone with a bit of understanding and patience as this is going to be a mammoth task for me if we manage to pull it off (no pun intended )
Or at least someone who can be on time!

I've always used hadfields and had no.problems what so ever, think I paid £60 for a machine pick up from skegness last time.
Thanks for the suggestion. I tried hadfields for my last delivery, they charged me £80 extra to have it delivered to my livingroom which is 2 feet away from the door. They took 3 weeks to do it. I could use them again if there was nothing else. Thanks again tho Tommy

Never having sent a machine by courier, does anyone have any advice on how I should try and protect it for transportation please?

Someone will have a fab machine when they get that, thats for sure!I've used Hadfields a few times, they were absolutely brilliant when privately owned by Tony Hadfield himself. Not so sure now they've been bought out.Other than that, I used Anyvan.com and see if someone will quote a good price. Got a few machines moved around Yorkshire area, and one brought to myself down South, including various maneouvers up and down stairs, for £500 all in.
Got a quote of £225 on Getvan but went with Silver who are charging £110 inc Vat with insurance and protection wrapping during shipment. I had a bad experience myself with Hadsfield it took over 3 weeks for them to deliver a machine they already had in their possession so put me off a bit. Plus I left a bad review so don't want to risk going with them again lol.

I liked the wrapping option as I wasn't sure how to do it 'correctly'
Plus I have all my Christmas presents ready in case they are included in this service

I have been using tom & tandy for my last 4 or 5. They are great on collection times. Sometimes takes a bit longer to get to you but they all have!
Before them I was using redwing....... very hit and miss!

When I had a machine picked up I bought a massive roll of bubble wrap and then just cling filmes round it so it was nicely padded and secured. I did put polystyrene tiles to protect screen.
To be fair I probably over did it but I didn't want any damage to occur while in transit, it was fully insured but I bet even that isn't straight forward if anything happens.
