Just need to echo this - please don't be done mate - your work is very much valued.
People might be clicking on the rating saying "this is good", have a star. We are dealing with a new cross-section of users here that don't seem to understand too much in terms of how things work. This is what happens when the TXT' speak people move from their phones to a PC.
I have had so many requests by several users that needs support on MFME in terms of the real basic stuff, I have had to do this.

1. A little too dumbed down.

...we are dealing with a new wave of people that have trouble even using the emulator so a forum rating system is perhaps the next lesson in life usage that's needed.
People are so used to MAME where it works with packed roms, you could equally say they're so used to click "like" that actually clicking on the "star" was them liking it. I am not making excuses but it feels like with MFME v6 we have a new generation of people that see things a little different from us. It's all about clicks, facebooks and friends they've never met or likely to meet - but they're best buddies over a social networking program.
Take care mate and hope you can at least give consideration as to where I am coming from here.
