Hello
Looking at getting back in the saddle. Is there an equivalent of the old blank layout knocking around or is the old .dat file still supported?
Thanks,
Mark

Takes about 30 seconds to create one from scratch to suit your own requirements. Just go into edit mode, right click on main screen and choose, Reels, Lamps, Buttons, Alpha & 7 Segs. Enter reel editor and right click on each strip and set them to default.
Done one here for you anyway

So it took longer for you to give me a lecture than to attach the file? Nothing's changed in MFME land. hehehe

It's one of a few that I want to work on over the coming months, just not sure what the output rate will be yet (or the quality of resources).

It is a shame that the flyer isn't better quality. We already have a flyer based DX of this.
The tools in mfme are far superior to any previous releases so it's a great time to get back into it for sure. Good luck.

I know what you mean about that - but if we can bring all releases up to date to work with the new version, surely it helps?
The other one that I'll be definitely doing is Star Wars - A New Hope. While Dad's done a version of this, I've got the machine at home so I'll be able to get some good photos of it.
Other questions/comments:
- I've never been a fan of the BAF layouts, they remind me of playing Space Invaders on the Atari when the aliens only showed up when they fired at you!
- Is there a currently preferred layout size? I remember moving from 1024 to 1280 back when I was developing. I've now got an ultra-wide monitor on 2560 x 1080 - what's the recommended height?
- Does RHM still drive buses and does he still let his girlfriend peg him?

So you're saying do the initial image as large as reasonably possible and MFME will resize it for you to fit the screen resolution that you're working at?
I assume the basics are still:
Create image
Create lit version
Fit lamps over image
Extract lamps, do masking
Do lit version (plus redo for 2/3 colours)
ANH is the only one I have at the moment. Would probably look at swapping it out at some point in the future.

Just make them as big as you can. MFME doesn't have any size restrictions now, so you want to make them future-proof for when 4/8k becomes the norm. Imaging viewing a 4/8k layout on a TV like this: http://www.bbc.co.uk...nology-42615611
