i was wondering if anyone has any objections to me putting some of the fruit emu files out for download via bittorrent. i wouldnt post them as my own work, i would give full credit to those responsible and maybe introduce a link that directs more users here.

thought i would ask b4 doing anything

this has been discussed before........i was going to post em on a bittorrent site as a whole package. and one of the admins was gonna set up a bittorrent tracker of there own to host it.......but it was decided against for various reasons.....but hey. that was a while ago.you can get them via mirc. and i got the whole collection vis newsgroups. and from here via http. so why not bittorrent....

Someone has put a set of about 70 on BT I think, seem to remember a post from Fruit Forums about it.

Designers of layouts, as they have the copyright for their work, have every right to decide on where their layouts can be hosted. For example, I think I am right in saying that M1adness like their layouts on their site for a reasonable amount of time before they are released elsewhere.

Personally, the way I see it is that as the files are all available here, it makes no difference if they are hosted through BitTorrent, but it is totally up to the authors of the layouts, and the Emulation coders.

Is there any small print in the emulators [i.e MFMEv2] regarding the hosting of the emulator or layouts on a P2P system?

Thats utter bullshit the copyright holders are never asked about hosting of their material, that is the copyright holders are the manufacturers of the machines wheres the written permission from Bell Fruit, Barcrest, Jpm etc?

I host the files via Limewire which has edonkey clients and old kazaa users.

5 files are hosted

1 Fruit emulation.txt which is basically a link to this site
2 fruit emulation jpm.zip - the jpm emulators and all the roms ive downloaded to date
3 fruitmachine emulation mfme.zip - again emus and roms
4 fruitmachine emulation bfm.zip - get the idea yet ?
5 www.fruit-emu.co.uk url straight to this site.
