New innovative Equinox™ terminal range offers modern gaming solution as SG Gaming phases out Triple7 Terminals

London – 2 February 2018  – Scientific Games Corporation (NASDAQ: SGMS) (the “Company”) announced today that the Company’s UK divisionSG Gaming, will be gradually phasing out its Triple7 terminal, which was introduced to the market in 2007, to focus on its more current product range, including the recently unveiled innovative Equinox™ range.

Equinox™ range has been developed to be modular by design and adaptive to new emerging technology. It is comprised of four striking terminals – three with different HD screen sizes of 24”, 27” and a curved 43” 4K screen, along with a magnificent 55” community gaming showstopper. It also offers a host of innovative new features such as ‘Privacy Mode’ on its V-Deck+ gaming panel, as well as providing access to an array of engaging gaming content from the SG Gaming content development team. The range will provide SG Gaming’s most immersive gaming experience to date.

As part of this fantastic innovation, SG Gaming has reached the decision that it will no longer update and support its Triple7 terminal. Whilst the Triple7 terminal has performed well since its launch in 2007, it is no longer able to provide as compelling a gaming experience as the Company’s more recent products. New platform software updates and new content updates will cease from the 31st July 2018, with the terminal reaching its end of life by 1st January 2019, after which all SG Gaming support will cease. SG Gaming is already working with its customers to ensure an effective migration.

Simon Johnson, Group Commercial Director at SG Gaming, said, “The Triple7 has been a great product for our customers, but at over ten years old, it cannot compete with our more modern products. Innovation is always at the forefront of what we do at SG Gaming, and the new Equinox™ range is a real step forward, not only as a terminal solution, but also in terms of the cutting-edge features that support it.

We very much look forward to rolling out the new Equinox™ terminals into more venues next year, allowing operators to offer their players the most up-to-date playing experience, and ultimately help to drive cashbox performance as a result”.

So glad my addictive stage ended before these machines really took a hold.

I still have the odd £50 or so in one, but sod being addicted to them, I honestly think I would be so far in debt and depressed.

Quite sad really, SG cares nothing for the industry, ceasing reel based was the first huge knock, now t7's.

I do however see that they make a mint from FOBT machines, and of courser this new b*stard system of leasing games only is a real kick in the teeth.

I know somerbody who purchased 30-40 t8 cabinets to host the games package, the realization set in that if he cancels the contract - hes left with bare empty shells.

The Triple 7 is but a pale shadow of the cabinet that brought us decent games like Wild Clover, Hammer Top Trumps & Co.  Latterly loaded up with 88% non streaking abominations like Grease and Black Knight.   About time it was put down.

But the same games will be on the T8.... and more than likely the new cab they have. Maybe not those classic £70s though haha
