Temporary section, for anyone interested, until Alex is feeling much better to create a MFME6 section...

 

Just drop all the MFME6 layouts into this thread, if you can, until such time that a new forum section is created.

 

To be honest, anyone could've tried this...

Good idea stardust, but if layouts are added to this topic won't they be lost within the topics and not advertised on the front page under download's!!
Can't a mod add another section to the download section or at least amend the title of the Mfme 5 section to say MFME 5 / 6
there's soon to be a mfme6.1 update to maybe make the section to this title?
Either way I'll still be added my layouts in the usual manner but add, plays in mfme 6 only!!

I'll start adding my V6 layouts here tomorrow.  I'll do them in batches of 10.  Got 110 to do in total, so 11 uploads in all.  A mod can update the layouts in the downloads with the V6 layouts when the new section gets added.

tbh the is one place where the scene seems quite fragmented, i know its a massive undertaking but a central database of layouts is definitly needed, i can see all sorts getting lost the way it is,

 

if there was a full torrent about i would be quite happy to help upload layouts and screenshots to somewhere. i would even spend time converting if needs be!

 

there seems to be layouts all over the place and id hate for some to get lost.

I'm sure this has been brought up before and Aaamusments said it was a pain setting up the MFME V5 section. The thing is if a MFME V6 section is set up and then say MFME V7 comes out your going to want a new section for that so where will it end?

 

Better off just changing it to MFME V5/6 as everything on V5 is FML anyway.

 

Neophyte, there has been a central Data Base called FMEDB set up by Ross, but it is a massive undertaking to get all the Roms, Artwork/ pictures and layouts set up.

good point Andy, also was thinking to myself last night, the other sites i.e Dadsfme/ The Mecca and Desertisland, Dxcellent don't have this problem and there's no dedicated sub sections just one "releases" section and they don't encounter any problems

Fruit Emu has never made things easy for itself... Believe me I know!

 

I set up the start of the original sections with stanmarsh a few years ago now... It was complicated, as we had temporary access to the administration rights of Fruit Emu and I was dreading the fact that when I was planning the section, I would press the wrong buttons and Fruit Emu would go floating into the ether...

 

It didn't - but what I am trying to say is that it is an Admin section only to set up, and because Alex is the only admin that can carry this out (PeteW is here to help the upgrade and maintenance of the sites) and because Alex has health issues at the moment, we will have to try and work together to temporarily put up with what we have...

 

It isn't perfect I know, but it is better than nothing - and frankly better than the last few months in any case.

I could start adding the updated MFME6 layouts here if it's easier for the mods, no problem.  I'll just do ten, a day, otherwise I'll just be flooding the thread with layouts.  Bear in mind that the layouts I'll be uploading, here, go back to 2003, onward.  So some of them will look a bit tatty compared to today's layouts.

 

Fixes include:

 

Fixed Reel Offsets

Updated New Alphas

Updated Segs

New Reels/Overlays

Meter/Payout Sounds

Backgrounds Adjusted For Borderless Modes

 

And here are the first ten in alphabetical order:

sweet...im still in the process of sorting my mfme layouts for V6 and i noticed a lot of machines with the reels offset...so thanks for these.

Fixing reel offsets on a layout should be easy, mate.  If a layout's reels are wrong, all you have to do is mirror the adjustment.  So if it says '4', and it's wrong, just adjust it to '-4'.; for example.  And '2', would need to be adjusted to '-2'.
