Can anyone explain the problem? I was in funland amusements Blackpool this weekend videoing my party time streak but the female attendant didn't seem happy with it and started to become a snotty little rude idiot asking me to put my camera away for whatever reason. I thought she was joking but then a second time she again saw me filming on another streak and this time she threatened that if i didn't leave she would call police. I asked her politely why she had a problem but she was having none of it and just continued with the threats that if i didn't leave she would call police.  

So to avoid a scene as their were kids around i just left feeling proper annoyed and utterly p***d off mainly at the fact i'd put in over £50.    

 

What is the problem? All i was doing was making a video of a streak. Is it against their rules to use cameras in arcades or was she just CHOOSING to be a bitch over it because she was bored?  I see people using their cameras all the time taking pictures but they wern't getting told.  

 

I have loads of streak videos and was thinking of putting them on YouTube and making more but now this nasty little cow has put a spanner in the works.

Put it this way Filming anything in a very Buzy Blackpool Arcade is not right at all as you are filming while kids are around no matter if the machine or not and can be suspicious ........as you were saying people taking photos are you sure if not people who have put their kids on rides  or something for a happy photo ... i have no problem in that ... but filming ... well .....

You could not have chosen a more run down,out of date arcade.

And tbh the filming of the slots may have helped them gain some much needed custom,as I can't imagine there were many people in there!

Most arcades will have a problem(with filming) because they think you have some sort of advantage with the slots lol

Almost like you are manipulating them in some way!!

Yet ive seen smart phones left on slot units and full calls in progress whilst playing,and no eyelid batted!!!

My advise would be to locate an arcade with more people playing in it,and film your slot wins discreetly.

Seen a few vids filmed in Coral Island which to be fair is usually busier and easier to find a few blind spots to film.

 

Did you venture into any other arcades here in Blackpool?

Busy-Blackpool is beyond dead!

True we may get a few more on a weekend but the arcades are far from busy here,some are still closed until Easter weekend.!-and have been since October,that's the true and sad reality.

Reading the initial post they were filming a slot not the people in the arcade.

I part agree what yr saying but end of it's harmless filming of a slot machine-and I don't think that is doing anyone any harm.

And if the arcades woke up(which many are facing closure)they would realize that the publicity will do them no harm.

A guy on y.tube films regularly in Wales and several arcades have stopped him-free publicity,thrown in his face. There loss.

you dont film in arcades with kids about full stop in stop even in the back as noise

 

as people will get the wrong end of the stick

 

and the arcade will get the wrong type of puplicity

Hi Corel, I obviously don't film, but I have been told that in Quicksilver, filming is certainly not allowed. I did record myself on Bear X in WSM, as it is very rarely seen these days. As for arcade attendents, I don't know blackpool. I know quicksilver, and the girls are always pleased to see me. In fact, they understand the autistic spectrum and know I like the effects and turn up the volumes of the machines. I also have a few friends in there too who help me out on magic sevens and OXO. Sorry I cannot be of anymore help regarding the videoing. Tom (I have finished).

Banned from the arcade? Seriously?

 

I have been in and seen quite a few people filming their machine sessions as well as Coral Island, Happy Dayz, Fun Palace, Star Attractions,

 

The female attendant who would be a snobby cow anyways as she has told me not to film any of my gameplay but yet it isn't against the rules that filming/videoing in a 18+ area is disallowed nor does any rule state that within the confine text of the Over 18's Area rules.

 

Fair enough some may judge that videoing/filming shouldn't be done, but would some amusements be packed or even checked out by others across the uk? I very highly doubt as it is getting them some custom from one person who is supplying the fun on YouTube or DailyMotion or Vimeo.

 

I would understand if you would of got banned in the normal area but come on, being banned for filming in a over 18 area? that is a bit below the belt.

 

Just reminds me when I got told not to film my 16+ streak of Party Time Number 2 In Star Attractions a few days ago in which I was told to delete or face a call from the Police....

It's up to the arcade whether they allow you to film or not, and if you don't obey their rules, they have the right to refuse admission.  Pretty simple really.  Whether you agree with their reasons or not is neither here nor there.  Filming in any public place is often not allowed so I don't see why that rule wouldn't extend to an arcade.  The video might end up on Youtube and a member of the public might be in the video losing shopping money or gambling when they should be at work etc.  Could lead to all sorts of shit.

Well ive filmed plenty of sessions before in coral island and all the pier amusments and never had a problem and staff don't give the slightest monkeys if they see people on their phones at machines. Not like I'm walking around filming a child playing on a coin pusher that would be wrong. I think it could be do with the fact I'm advertising gambling.

Its the fact that your in a family arcade,even if your in an 18 area. Its the fact that a family arcade has kids knocking about. its does hurt to ask a manager and explain first what your up to,he/she my say yes/no but they dont know you from adam and its a sad world we live in. Myself have had no problems with taken photos in blackpool as long as i asked and explained why am taken pictures and i made sure there was no one around the machine and no kids in shot,even in funland but coral would let me in the 18s area but was ok anywere else.

It does seem to be a paranoid fixation by the arcade for you not to be able to film your enjoyment of playing a fruit machine. Theme parks let you film the same enjoyment riding on their attractions !!!! Also let's not forget the fact that 'US' the

punters/mugs are being filmed at every moment whilst we are enjoying ourselves by the management of these establishments!!! So why ????

 

Since the Health and Safety laws went mental and everyone is trying to claim off everyone else and camera phones are very good. This then I feel is their real fear someone could find a good reason to sue no matter how pathetic.

Don't think its a kid thing (over18's section proves the point) they have the right to ban filming on their property for whatever reason. Sad but true.
