It's what got me started on layout design after 17 years of being around FME and not knowing how to produce a layout.

Once you complete the layout in the guide it's pretty easy to produce another layout from the scorpion 4, Epoch or mpu 5 era.

I would say it could do with being expanded, but can understand it's time consuming to do.

Also as explained in the guide, the basic set up of alpha, reels, lamps, buttons and loading in the roms, is pretty much what you need to start any layout on nearly any tech.

If you get alarms or trouble configuring then a quick search of Google will normally bring up FME forum results with answers, some going as far back as 15 years ago. Or a look at another layout of the same tech will normally get you moving.

Thank you very much.  This had so many hours poured into it and is the only guide that was ever written for MFME to get it from nothing to base classic.  You cannot know how pleased I am that people are willing to give this ago so thank you Bungle.

I have only recently managed to get sometime back in my life, but yes you are right.

MFME has such a scope of what can be done - this is a book that will never be finished - but the first step onto a greater journey if somebody decides to do a layout.

No problem I can see many many hours went into this, and I believe it will constantly evolve as the scene does. just brilliant cheers.

Definitely a book that would never be finished and a book that probably could be over a thousand pages if it covered everything.

It's easy enough to get people started and I can only assume laziness or lack of interest in doing a layout, is the reason more people haven't at least done the layout in the book and gone on to produce another layout.

It's like cooking, I can understand why people wouldn't attempt doing a layout or cooking something, if there was no instruction, because it would be difficult for many people to know where to start. But doing the layout in the book, is pretty much like a recipe book and following the instructions to cook it.

Anyone who does complete the layout, have the knowledge, that if they were the only person interested in doing a machine or the only person left in FME, that they could still produce it as long as the rom where available.
