So, today a site supporter did what he thought was a favour to the community and created a release thread for MFME 6.1, clearly thinking, as do many, that it might be beneficial for it to be hosted on this site. There are arguments for and against it being hosted here, but in full compliance of Wizard's wishes we have not hosted MFME 6.x and instead anyone asking for such gets sign-posted to DIF.
Now it is my understanding that release threads automatically go through and don't need approval, so any statements about mods or admins authorising this release of 6.1 have no grounding in truth. I actually had not seen the release thread itself and first became aware of it when reading an email from the site telling me of a PM from Vecs, which was asking me to take it down, which I did immediately. Then in the way of someone emailing you a solution of how to fix your broken email client, I posted a response to the thread, which is no longer visible to you guys. Anyway, the gist of it is that replies (or review comments to give them their proper title) to release threads to do not appear in new comments listing, so unless I were to physically visit every release thread every day to check then I am not going to see such comments.
To flag something of concern on the site, if it is a file then mark it as broken, or if not then PM the mods, or create an actual new thread which will appear in the New Content section. As mods and admins we do all have lives outside of FME so I cannot guarantee any of us will be on, but sooner or later it will get addressed; and in my defence the sites have been up and down so much in the last couple of weeks, I'd almost given up trying to get on here. Anyway, hopefully it is all up now and and the status quo has been reinstated and there is no longer anything to see here.
Cheers

Was news to me, but yes you are right. Suspect it will have been done in error, in a rush, by one of us. Mea culpa and all that. Sorted now.

Regarding uploads in the old days of fruit-emu when I first started creating layouts (2012) if you uploaded any file it had to be approved by a mod/admin this happened until you was a recognised layout creator or whatever, sometimes the upload would take a few days to be seen. Is this not the case anymore if so then imo it should be implemented once again.

Last I read a while ago admin didn't want us recognised as layout creators that why we have the dull colour for our names yet all other members have different colours lol
I really haven't a clue about that.
