As you are probably aware I have put a pc in an old games warehouse cabinet, my first cabinet build lol. Thread here,,, https://www.fruit-em...uilding-my-own/ page 4 showing the cabinet etc.

At the moment I have to switch on the pc manually via the pc switch, is there a way that this can be shorted so that it just turns on via the wall switch?

The PC switch is a 'fly by wire switch', that is it does not actually switch the mains. It tells the computer to finish the tasks and then shut down.

Why not extend the 'fly by wire switch' to the front of the cabinet. That way it will stop you destroying your PC.

I can shutdown the pc via the touch screen, well that is what the software will do when my mate has finished writing it, I just wanted it to power up via a mains plug instead. Is that possible?

I've bitten the bullet and bought a soldering iron kit, a bit more professional than biting the wires and taping them up.

there should be a setting in bios - in power settings called ac back or similar - enable it to switch it on automatically.

This mod allows the pc to instantly turn on when power is applied. Simply splice into the wires shown on this webpage and follow the rest of the instructions . This should in theory allow it to switch on without a button. Then use a momentary push switch and connect 2 wires to the PC power on header on the motherboard. This button will allow the pc to shut down when pressed. https://www.instruct...y-without-a-PC/
