Hi folks.
I've got my parent Rom files. If I want to update the game version what do I have to do with the new sets/rivisions?
Im looking to program these back onto an eprom... but posting here as you fellas are the brainboxes. Presume it's some type of merger?
Parent roms work fine I just want to try out the improved and different gameplay.

If you are talking about updating the ROM set in an MFME layout, then back up and edit the .GAM file and replace the ROM lines to match the new ROM names (Put ROMS in to the same folder as the layout). If you are talking about hard ROMS, then usually you have to physically replace the whole set (carefully, as to not to bend any legs).

Rather than faff around with the gam file, just open the ROM loader and enter the new ROMs with that.

Hi gents and thanks. I'm refering to physical Eprom chips. I have a programmer and get by with it. The m1b I want to update I can only get the 1.1 version parent roms working.
None of the updated versions seem to work. I'm trying to work out if I have to merge them with the parent Rom file or anything like that?
Other techs like Scorp4 it's easy just grab a later version and burn it. M1b I'm struggling to get past the original versions. I didn't know if I'm missing something?

The concept of parent ROMs doesn't exist with Fruit Machines, you should always be burning a complete set of ROMs for the required version.

Thanks wizard. So in effect the revised Rom files I'm obtaining should be the actual dump of what's originally on the eprom. They just don't seem to work. It's a strange one this. Can't quite understand it.
