Hi

My Pure Madness machine has developed the 52-36 No Characteriser / NO ID fault. This can be fixed (hopefully) by the guys at Fruitmachine Sales in Kent, however they do not have access to the original software that would need to be reloaded onto the machine once they have replaced the battery.

Would anyone know where I could obtain the software?

It's an MPU5 mk3 card and the label states Version 1.1C (EC83) and it's £70jp / 30p play

If have also uploaded the manual in case anyone ever needs that. I had promised to do that some time ago!

Many thanks

Nigel

Wow that was a quick response. I had just sent a message to ross as i found an older post from 2018 discussing uploading some Empire roms.

Indeed that zip seems to have several versions including 1.1c

Brilliant, massive thanks.

I will see if it works.

Guys

It looks like my "RTC EC83" PIC chip is defective. I have found this link https://e-service.co...pre-programmed/

They claim to be able to create one.

I do not understand the exact function of the PIC chip - could anyone explain the function/info?

Does anyone have any opinion on the likely validity of that claim? Would there not be propriety info that they would need from Empire Games?

Cheers

Just closing this thread out.

To cut a long story short, I finally obtained a replacement working MPU5 mk3 Program card and transferred the EC83 PIC chip over to it, booted with the CF card and successfully loaded up the Pure Madness BIN 1.1C.

Seems I had had a succession of broken Program Cards during testing which had led me to believe that the PIC chip was defective.

The machine is now fully working.

Cheers
