I've had a couple of emails from users on here saying that they are suddenly unable to post to the forums.

They are appearing to be in the 'Users Awaiting Email Confirmation' usergroup, whereas I assume they should be in the 'Registered Users' usergroup.

I don't seem to have the permissions to move people into different usergroups [probably for the best ;)], so can't move them about.

Not sure what caused users to moved into the wrong group, but I guess one thing I think they could do is :

a) Make sure that you have checked the Email address you used when you registered with FE, or your current address... make sure theres no emails there regarding 'Email Confirmation' or anything similar.

B) Hang on and wait for an Admin to sort it out :)

I'm not sure of how many users are affected, I've had 2 PMs in the space of 2 days on the matter, it might just be those 2 users, might be more :)

Are they regulars Ben or people who have decided to post due to your thread the other day?

I seem to remember this topic some time last year too, and it was i'm sure something to do with their end with non-activation as you said.

If they are in the 'Users Awaiting Email Confirmation' group then they need to click the link in their original e-mail to activate their accounts. If they leave it more than a few days then they'll need to re-register.

Sorry, stupid me forgot to add the people affected, only 2 have PM'd me so far.

Kingkallum82 and ToddyUK so far... both of whom have posted here recently... which is why this seemed so weird :S

I guess one thing that would cause it would be changing Email in their profiles, I seem to remember having a similar problem before.

Youre wright ben the prob was when i changed my email address to fruit-emu one .

Never thought much more about it then when i came to post again i realised i hadnt confirmed the activation from the fruit-emu email ...

But then i couldnt get into the fruit-emu email as i hadnt confirmed it ..

So was a bit stuck ..

manged to sort it by changing email to a hotmail account

Maybe something to note when changing your email to fruit-emu to activate it straight away ...

Cheers for your help but sorted now .. :)
