one of my favourite machines, it had a clone called labyrinth which was medevil based rather than eygptain themed.
A good feature board, worthwhile things to collect with some skill features. Its definately one of my favourite machines and I hope it will be emulated some day as I can no longer find a machine in my home town

Don't know what you mean by
... not a clue of what the name was, all I really know is that the machines were made by Electrocoin, who basically churn out Bar X machines.

These machines were definately Electrocoin. I suspect he means what tech. did they run on Bencrest. I can't remember the tech - I think it was their own - but AFIK, it is unemulateable at present. They were quite good for getting a streak on. Many times when I was down to my last couple of quid, i would play either Labyrinth, Pyramid or the space one (I can't remember it's name either) and walk off with at least £15. Ahh those were the days.

Looking at the list the space one looks most likely to be 'Stairway To Heaven', but as i have never played it i can't be sure.

Space Trek I think it was.
Out of the Labyrinth/Secret Castle/Pyramid/Sphinx series, I preferred Sphinx, because when you got a win you were always offered an exchange. The features were nice, especially Skill Climb, and Reel Skill (which would often slip on JP) was good for £3 and the chance of a couple of repeats.
Anyone remember Mr Do? That was quite good, and then came Stairway to heaven (as hurtand quite correctly says) and Pennies form Heaven which was similar.
Also there was a poker-style game with 5 reels, and another that had a pirate theme, with skulls, ships and cutlasses on.
All in all they were a wonderful series of games, and it would be great if the tech was emulated one day.
Lastly Electrocoin did a game called Dungeon Master that had a mini-screen on the top glass that showed various in-feature graphics such as walking through tunnels and fighting baddies. It was good but not great.
There's a Pyramid in one of the arcades in Bridgend if anyones interested, on the high-street. Sadly 5p a play, but OK for memories...

If anybodys going to spain this year particularly tenerife, you can play an exact clone of electrocoins Labyrinth, in the arcades there it's called dungeon and has exactly the same sounds and layout and looks particularly new for there standards of fruit machines. Could'nt quite belive it when i saw it! all the memories started flooding back as this was one of the games i used to play loads in the 'good ol days'.

If anybody lives or goes near Solihull centre (not far from NEC), they have £10 Pyramid there. And the cool thing about it is it was one of the only none Bar X machines that the Jackpot actually holds. And even if you get the jackpot on the feature you have quite a good chance at a repeat.. It's one of those machines you can play for ages on your first pound.. Perhaps that's why there don't seem to be many of them about anymore.. For some reason these greedy people who run the arcades want to make money.. The B&^%rds!!!

yeah i know exactually what you mean it was 20p a go here in doncaster (game zone, which then became a sell out to teddys) with a jackpot of 6 pounds. Once i got into the pyramid and i was going in and out of the levels round and round for what seemed like 15minutes got reel skill in the end and missed the jackpot by one reel
