I was wondering if there was any possibility of hosting all the roms for techs currently supported in the emus somwhere?
I am not talking about Epoch, MPU5, Astra, and the other techs that can't be emulated at this point in time - just MPU3/4, Maygay, Impact, and so on.
There are probably dozens if not more roms for machines that haven't been done yet because they haven't been tested.
There is nowhere on the WWW that hosts the fme roms since emuchina stopped hosting them, so a place where they can be hosted would be of tremendous benefit.

I can create another category in the downloads if someone is prepared to upload them all.

I did have a full set at one point sadly lost in a hard drive crash and would have gladly upped the lot if however someone would be so kind as to make a list of what needs uploading and I can get the roms I will be more than happy to upload them.

Glad that everyone approves of the idea. Who knows, might unearth some classic machines that haven't been done yet.
I'll have a scour through the roms dat tomorrow and make a list of machines that could possibly be emulatable.
It will not be a conclusive list, just an educated guess at to what machines qualify.

If I had the roms mate I'd upload them myself.

When I said "I'll have a scour through the roms dat tomorrow", I meant the actual dat file with the names of the roms in it.
I don't actually have the roms. And besides...there isn't a place to upload them to yet!
The best guy to ask for a full rom set would probably be the fishman Trouty.
I don't know of anyone else that has got a full rom set.

Great news mate. I'll hold off on looking through the dat I already have then.
Don't want to do the job twice. Once is enough.

So, we have Duplu saying he'll make a category for the rom downloads, and we have someone who has got the full rom set prepared to upload.
Brilliant!

Just hope we can get some good images or redraws of things rather than a need just to get something done first.

I agree images and artwork is waring a little thin. Especially for the older machines.
The only feesible way of getting good artwork for machines now is if machines are being sold on Ebay which kind of narrows it down a bit.
I used to live near a large Garage that used to house old machines ready for destruction.
To think of all the roms and glasses I could have had makes me shudder.
If only I knew then what I know now.

On second thoughts rather than creating a category it might be better if I set up some FTP details. Uploading each rom one-by-one into a category is gonna be a bit slow. If I set up an FTP account then someone can upload them in one go.
If the person who is going to upload can drop me a PM I'll set up the FTP space and give them a user/pass.

Here is a 'beta' dat for anyone interested, just make sure you have your backup set. Sould not do anything harmful though, maybe some slight 'naming errors.'
