LCD Display...

I noticed that a few fruit machines out there have a tiny lil LCD display on them that displays a number, usually close to where ya put the money in,
Could any1 tell me what this is for? im just curious...

I think its the money thats put in to refill it from the refil key. Older machines had them clicky reels to display the numbers, but now days its all fancy.

That will be the SEC electronic meter and as dave says it will display the refill meter while door is closed. If the door is open it will flash between all the cash in cash out and any other meters that are stored on it

higher the number means the more coins that have been refilled when a collector or landlord has refilled it through the coin mech.

Not really that much to a player.so...a high number means ? And a low number ?

A high number could maybe mean the machine is owned by the landlord, and he has keys to the cash box, and when the pub is closed he plays the machine on the night using money from the machine, streaks its, so it wont pay out for ages the next day, then refills it (rather than just dumping coins in the hopper) ready for next day. Or it could mean nothing other than the machine pays out a lot, and needs to be refilled regularly.

most of the machines that are installed through a brewery and therefore landlords do not have access to these machines. its very very rare now that any landlord has access to both the top or the cash box nowaday's
