Hello there,
If i dump the hopper,
[Insert refill key, open bottem door > cash box and press the dump button and start], Does this effect the meter readings? For example, if i dumped the contents and then placed it back into the hopper (using refill coins option) would this effect any readings when my collectors go on their rounds? Also, would it leave everything how it was before i dumped it?
Thanks for any advice

the only meter that it will effect is the refill meter not the coin in or the coin out.
hope this helps.

oh right, so if i went and dumped one of the hoppers now, and then put them all back in, one by one with the refill key, it will not effect anything else?
Also, when placing the coins back in one by one, can you do this from the outter coin slot or do you have to place them in the slot on the inside? After all, it should matter should it? as the outter one just covers the inner one?
Cheers for you reply

OK ive just been and opened the bottom door, [restart]... i turned the key, Then i opened up the cash box and pressed hopper dump. It said *PRESS START TO DUMP*, which i did and it all flooded out. I remembered about the dumping twice. So i did the same again and then it said REFILL 100P X 125. I slotted all the coins back into the hopper and it read them as it went in. Ended up on REFILL 100P X 49, like i started with .. Just hope it doesnt effect the company i work for's readings when they come to collect the takings.
[This machine is just down my local, which i got called to. Just didnt want to dump and make it harder for the collector tomorrow]

all you needed to do was dump the hopper the way you did it and then just pour the coins back into the hopper without going through the coin mech because now the machine will think there is £71 extra in the machine because you have went through the coin mech and used the refill meter.
sorry to say but you better let the collector know you did this so the collector knows what you did.

if this machine is part of a chain of pubs then they will use the refill meter.

Hey again
thanks for your replies.
As far as i am aware, as i dumped twice, the machine resets the refill meter. therefore it is aware there is only £71. Please correct if wrong but im rather sure that it has counted properly.
As for which pub it is, i wouldnt wanna give out info of a client
Cheers all

I would assume Peterborough was mainly LeisureLink / GamesTec territory, and maybe the odd Micro/Peterboro Automatics, but really only in takeaways.

Anyway, glad Baz sorted that out for you. Damn useful chap is Baz

when you dump the hopper that doesn't affect the refill meter its when you refill it again through the coin mech if all the doors are closed.

yes it does effect the refill meter. Dump twice and the refill meter is reset to £125 (empty). Refill with coins you dumped and the refill meter will count in. Machine will play fine. (IE- it knows the amount in it)

Think you'll find tht if u dump twice, the hopper float level is reset to £0. The machine will play normal on an empty hopper, just IOU when you get a win. The refil meter cannot be reset. ever. Why do people think that the hopper float level affects gameplay?!

Uhhh... The Refill Meter is the thing next to the coin mech, you mean the 'short/long term software meters/hopper float'...
Can I have his job? I live in Spalding!
No offense, but heres some advice.
Which ever backwater supplier you work for should tell you this before they send you out to do whatever.
If you are operating unlicensed you are due a kick up the arse
Machines I've had in have had cards in, along the lines of 'Site Manager - Hopper Float Management', telling you how to dump / refloat as necessary.
I don't normally get arsey, but I fail to believe how someone in the trade is so stupid. Honestly, maybe it is the fact I've had a bad night, but FFS you need to get a grip. You have trouble with bandits, you could ask your manager. Get a grip

sorry mate but you are talking about the hopper level not the refill meter.
i think you should ask your bosses for some training because it looks like you need it(no offense)

That seconds what I say!
I mean jeeeeeeeesus, I learned what I know from playing an MPU5 for about 10 mins, if you don't know what to do you are screwed.
I'm assuming you told your boss you've been onsite 200 times in the past on anything from MPU3 to Scorp5?!

we just bought over a company in scotland who only had 60 odd sites and the engineer they had working for them was in his early 50's and had been with the company for nearly 20 years but to this day still couldn't work out the meter readings!!!
at the moment there is about 2 unreliable companies to every reliable company.
shame

I have to agree. Hate to name and shame, but Claremont need some new engineers. After 5 visits they still hadn't sorted out the random IOU on a local Red Gaming 'Thats Magic', so the landlord rightfully left it out in the car park in the rain for them [seeing as how he lost all bank holiday trade while it was off awaiting engineers].
The lack of motivation is pretty shocking, but mind you, it is the same in most 'trades' these days. I've only looked through history books, family histories, e.t.c., and even though I'm 19 I'd love to see things the way they were in them olden days?
Am I mental? Answers on a postcard
BTW The fact still stands that this person shouldn't be near a machine with that little of a clue
EDIT] BTW love the avatar

Probably due to the high cost of getting licenced to even fix / maintain a fruity, most firms little competition compared to what they should have. People who want to do it, who know there stuff, cant just set up a rival firm unless they have a wad of cash going spare... Reduced competition means they can get away with murder.......
And seeing as getting a licence is as easy as having a clean record, and gving the authorities a wad of cash, any one with cash can call themselves a licenced company to deal in fruities...
If they got rid of the wad of cash, and replaced it with some sort of exam, then it would ensure that at least people knew there stuff, rather than just getting into the business because they can afford to, or its been "in the family" for ever..... The licence is part of the reason the machines are stale, no new talent starting up fruity-companies as they cant afford the ludricrous fees just to supply machines..... So we are stuck with a ever reducing number of suppliers rehashing the same old stuff...
