not bad price, depends if you have a monitor already and what there support is like for that money...you probably could build the same machine for about 200 quid if you shopped around for the bits.
Plus knock of the shared vga ram from the 1 gig and lack of floppy and OS

Personally I would look at the Dell outlet shop. I got a p4 3.2ghz with dual layer dvd writer, 160 gig sata HD, soundblaster sound card, radeon x300 pcexpress graphics card 512mb ram, keyboard, speakers but no monitor for 325 inc delivery. Least for the extra money you have a warranty and some come back on the system for a year

Its not a gaming beast, obviously its cheap for a reason, so bear that in mind.
Providing you don't go expecting killer performance when running your games at top res etc then it should last you a wee while. Depends entireley on what u want to use it for.
In conclusion, Adequate PC for an adequate price(RB is right, you could get the bits from elsewhere slightly cheaper) and woul "do the job" providing your not after supreme gaming performance

the spec's are pretty good for the price BUT as stated in the ad,there is no operating system installed so if you wanted to install XP home ed SP2 you are talking about £140 for the full edition(install on a formatted hardrive).
As i've said before the most expensive part of building a pc is the monitor and OS.
There are way's around it though;)

Is it the full OEM version though mate?cos if it's the upgrade version your knackered, you can't upgrade a blank HD(unless you install win98 and upgrade that way).
Or have you got the special version?

prices are ok, but as ppl have said, no os or monitor probably the dearest parts of a pc. There is a local shop near me where i buy my gear from does good prices, and no, i am not advertising
some useful input of the regulars would b nice too.... do they know anywhere much cheaper ?? because i'm always buying gadgets from there, for pc's

give it a wide birth m8, it doesnt have a monitor, but the real drag is the 128mb shared memory, as to why they didnt just give 512mb and ANY sort of graphics card is beyond me. 200gig hd is a nice size, but that can be picked up for £60 anyway. 3000+ is a nice speed, which can be picked up for around the £50 mark.
Why not make you own PC? not only will it be your own custom built, you also dont have to buy things you dont need. i, and im sure many others will help you build one.
MSI K8MM-V Sock 754 £38
AMD Athlon64 2800+ Socket754 £81.02
512Mb DDR400 PC3200 £32.84
160Gb UDMA 7200RPM £50.47
128Mb GeForce FX5200 AGP8x £25.79
Pioneer DVR-109 16xDVD+R/- £31.67
it took me 2 mins to look up this setup, for some £260, and this setup has socket 754, compared to the standard sempron the add was chucking out. you could go for a cheaper graphics card and/or slower cpu to save money, but, as is, its far better than the ebay deal.

Are you going to try and build one yourself then mate?
I can't recommend it enough, the savings you make...the satisfaction of knowing you built it(especialy when it boot's on start up 1st time).
If you need any help whatsoever through the build just give me a shout.

I honestly can't fault Dell.
Someone asked me to build them a PC - they wanted Celeron [they refused AMD because they are mental, obviously], wanted BEIGE [they don't like the standard Black & Silver scheme most new PCs have], and wanted 512mb RAM and a DVD Burner.
I gave them a price of £362, considering the Beige, but strongly recommended Dell, even if the PC was black - Dell did the same spec but for £350 inc VAT & Del.
I mean when a company can undercut me, and include 1 years guarentee, I can't fault them. I've had nothing but reasonable support from Dell, as have many of my associates.
Why is it that you call Dell 'Hell'? Did you personally have a bad experience with them?

Not me personally Ben.
I get a lot of people asking me to fix problems with their pc's and about 80% of them own a h..dell machine.
Alot of them were out of the box 1st start up aswell:o.
The problems vary from ...no power light when switched on(wire not connected to MB) to unmountable boot volume(f***ed up boot ini).
And if you want to upgrade one you will invalidate your warranty, which is a laugh cus the last one i fixed(about a week old) didn't even have an AGP slot.
