Hi Guys

I'm looking to buy either a new fruitie or possibly a Gamebox. I wondered if any of you have any experience of the company Herondata as their prices seem pretty reasonable. I would generally like to know the quality of their machines and support levels.

Any views would be appreciated good or bad.

Regards

Matt

Cheers Baz

Please excuse my ignorance, but can I ask in what way the Gamebox is high maintenance. I just assumed it would be configured and work with minimum fuss. I also like the idea of being able to swap the games with different packs.

Is there anything else you could recommend along the same lines as a gamebox? I'm not overly keen on the Megatouch machines.

Thanks mate

Matt

the gamebox machines were housed in the jpm proteus cabinet which had so many flaws regarding the pc and touchscreen we ended up selling the whole lot of them.

gamebox now produce their games to work in the paragon trivia, fatbox inde trivia and the it box.

also you will not be able to swap the games about because you had to be in the trade to get the update packs which they now do not manufacture(to my knowledge).

at the moment the best trivia style machines at the moment are the paragon, fatbox inde, channel one trivia and the it box but none of these are available to the public at the moment, also these machines work on a subcripsion basis so you buy the actual machine and then have to subscribe to the games.

I got my fruit machine from them about 6 years ago now, although I dont think they are suppose to sell to the private sector. My Noels House Party was pretty sound until about 6 months when something went dodgy and Maygay sent me a part. How and where did you get a price list from?

just ordered a fruit machine from herondata mlemmon so al let you know quality of it when i get it either end of this week beginning of next. So they must sell to the public now and all the payouts and stuff are connected cos i made sure of that first. Another thing is delivery is only a tenner, can't beat that.

If you find them in Google you see the following :

Herondata Sales
Suppliers Of Amusement Machines, Juke Boxes, Pooltables To The Trade And The Public.

So looks like they do supply to the public aswell now :S

Surprising, but in a nice way :)

---------------------

They seem a little expensive but there do appear to be some reasonable prices hidden in there ;)

If you click the bit that says Herondata Sales in my post above, that should double as a link to their homepage :)

They dont make it very clear that they sell fruit machines to the public in fact it does say on the home page what is available for trade customers and what for the public and fruit machines are not mentioned in the public bit. It also says in one bit of the site that machines for home use will be set on freeplay with the coin mechs removed, that why i phoned to make sure that wasn't true. They had no problems selling me a machine and if anybodys looking for a fruity click on the special offers link on the homepage, they sell all recent machines at decent prices.

Those available to the public are generally 'freeplay', without coin mechanisms and are accordingly at a lower price.

So they do sell machines, but on demo mode, as eBay machines should be. However, it says *generally* 'freeplay', not ALL freeplay, and the person that bought a machine from them above claims he checked it was configured to take coins.

IMHO I can't see anything wrong with the old disclaimers, and TBH I've not even had to sign one of those :D

so the impression i'm getting is that herondata don't have a license to sell machines, or its the case of governing machines strictly for the amuesment sector only and not the private sector. good job i only order spares from them then

Actually Herondata are not that bad. I bought a machine for someone who bought a machine from Herondata. The machine was in excellent condition and the hopper was connected. I have now sold this machine.

why do you have a problem with herondata lincsleisure they are licensed to sell to the public they just probably prefer to sell to trade customers although they are very welcoming to the private buyers. they were very helpful in response to my email and phone call.

received my machine yesterday from herondata. it arrived in excellent condition, with everything connected. they were very helpful in arranging the delivery as i work all day so the very helpful delivery driver waited for me at home while i came from work to take it in, he even helped me lift it up a couple of steps into the house.delivery was very quick, ordered tuesday evening delivered friday morning. All in all a very helpful company in my opinion and its obvious by the condition of my machine that they are not thrown about.
