Just recieved an email that looked like a question from a buyer, saying "im interested in your item, is it still for sale?"
The email looked EXACTLY the same as ebay emails do, identical, apart from I sort of had a feeling it was a scam. Logged on to the real ebay and there were no messages, so i clicked the respond now button and sure enough it took me to a fake sign in, with the website as bay-verification.com
Again the sign in looked the same, so i just typed in my username as im not falling for your SHIT and password as f*** off.
Just thought i would all yet you know, this is the best ebay scam I have seen yet
If you get one like it forward it to spoof@ebay.co.uk

E-mail ebay and do a look-up on arin.net to find the isp then send an e-mail
to that provider and their up-stream provider notifying them of the illegal
operation. That will get it pulled quickly and, if the providers are decent they'll get the lame phishers busted.

Its just like an AOL "INSTA-KISS"
They say "someone that admires you has sent you an insta-kiss, to find out who, click on the link". (or summat like that). Then u end up on an AOL sign-in screen wantin your Screenname and password,(when your already signed in on AOL).
I bet all the ugly folk fall for it tho lol (im ugly but too clever)
Theres some devious f***ers about.

I got a fake email for ebay.
It said my account had been suspended as I have broken their strict terms and conditions and asked for my log in to begin the process to get reinstated.
It went for the "oh shit" factor, but I too was to cynical to believe it.
So if you get ANYTHING via email that asks you to log in, be very careful.

I cant believe people are still trying this, as ebay sent emails to all users when they started that new system of sending the questions ect ect to your email address and my messages so you knew when it was a fake if it didnt appear in my messages.

I honestly believe you will get at least 5 replies to that. I should have more faith in people but the PT05 experience has left me bereft of faith in humainkind

if there is a link you can click on, its a fake. Simple as that.
I have had loads, some below
Emails inviting me to be a powerseller
Emails about multiple accounts (oddly after opening a second account...)
Emails about security updates
Emails about question for seller
Emails about Cancelled items
and more, some so devious I almost fell for them...
If you can get to ebay via the email then its a fake, and you are not going to the real ebay.

I didn't ask it then.. So how's everyone? I brought an Astro Wars off ebay which arrived Today and I am so p*ssed off as it doesn't work - and the seller must have known because the screen is blown - annoyed me as this is the first thing that I have brought off ebay which hasn't worked.
