If you had it installed by an alarm/security company then your first port of call should be their phone number :)

If you got it from somewhere like Argos then god help ya :D

Seriously though, don't you have the instruction manual for it?

If you are really stuck, examine the box you have there and try and determine the manufacturer and the model number. At least then you can hopefully track them down and get in touch :)

No manuals unfortunately. A relative installed it second-hand and he's the one we no longer trust hence the need to change password.
All I can gather from googling is that it's an 'Omnicron A1' - dunno if it's a model 6000, 7000, 8000 or whatever.
I found only two websites with possible info and they both wanted paying (one was a tenner) and neither could guarantee that the info will be there.
With my current financial situation being worthy of me committing suicide a tenner's way too much, in fact impossible.
I pray someone here has one the same one and can help.
Will try phoning some people to do with omnicron tho if I find any numbers.
Cheers for help so far tho....

Omnicron 8000 Manual

They may have other manuals aswell, you'd need to sign up here, which should be free :

I now get the 'infinitely helpful' crown then?

No problems, you sounded like you getting a bit worried about it and I hate to see people worried about stuff :D

I'd recommend you keep a printout, or save the scans somewhere safe, you never know when that site will go offline :)

Thats just his front, he really works for a government agency but im not aloowed to say which, only clue i can give is that you rearrange the following letters: M5I

Want proof, well is it just coincidence that he has access to manuals for home alarm codes!!!!

Shhhhh, dont blow his cover, he's keeping an eye on possible terrorist activity within the fme scene, apparantly he got his eye on Adydb (sounds middle eastern extremist to me) :D

A1 Omnicrons should all be banished to the dustbin.

With this particular control panel, theres no NVM chip. NVM is a 'Non Volatile Microprocessor'. This little dude holds all the user programming, codes, ect...

The thing is, the panel will hold any code changes whilst powered but a simple removal of power and back-up battery will render this control panel back to it's factory settings. Hence no NVM. If an NVM was fitted, after a complete power down, the panel would retain all programmable options and codes. In all cases, for many many years.

My advice would be to take that 'tenner' for their website assistance, put another 3 x tenners to it and purchase a nice 'Scantronic 9448+' from somewhere like 'City Electrical Factors (CEF)'

Not the greatest panel in the world but fantastic for a house with lets say 7 sensors. Oh, and it has an NVM. It has a 'chime' facility for any door contacts and will hold 2 seperate codes IIRC.
