I have actually heard of one arcade offering vouchers for the sex shop that the owner also runs. Imagine the look on the wifes face if you go home with £500 worth of dildos lol
(probably a bit like the look you will have on your face when she rams them somewhere )

I have read elsewhere that Southport Pier pays the Slotto jackpot in vouchers to tourists (not regulars!)
I have noticed that Fortune 500 says that all wins over £25 will be paid in vouchers, I always check with the arcade now before I put any money in that they pay out in cash.

That's just legal mumbo jumbo... both Slotto and Fortune 500 pay cash only. The £25 is per chance and you play 20 chances at a time hence the maximum of £500 in a spin. With Gary's game there is only one chance of winning which is where the vouchers come in - the machine is only allowed to pay £25 cash in one spin but can pay anything it likes (within reason) in vouchers.

ROFL. That would be an odd prize.

I still want to know just how the random number generator works......
Anyone got any tech specs? [ or a photo of a board]
As far as I know they're just PICs attached to a serial port on the mainboard.

the RNG is a small box, not much bigger than a matchbox, that has to (by law) be placed outside the machine, you can find them either back left, or behind the machine.
RED HOT FEVER has a stop/go thingy flashing like no tommorow, but doesnt do anything?? what should it do?

Gary is your particular section 16 machine truly random in every sense of the word?
Some products like Cms's 8 Liner 'warp' the RN generated and interpret it liberally.

i would say no. won £300, collected and played off last 10p, it rolled in exactly the same £300, only i got it for 10p (£25 win)
today, after doing my bollox big time, i switched from some £600 through at £2.70 stake, to 10p... guess what.....
rolled in £450, to which i received £25.
its tooooooo coincidental to be random.
if i didnt win the jp on cashino (4 roulettes rolled in) i`d be really peed.

Yes, Stake X asks for 3 numbers between 1 and 24, if they are all 1 then you get a jackpot, simple as that

Nails, unless they have changed the program since I left then you were just very unlucky. RHF as far as I know is totally random and there is no swaying of reels depending on what stake you are in

the lamps for them should be taken out, its a left over from the old section 34 version that had a pre stake gamble. It was left in for when sec 16 rules changed and a new version done

Bascially these partytime slotto 500 things say on them "All spins are 100% random...." then you look further down the little sticker and it says... "Average payout 90% or greater"
How can a machine which maintains a 90% payout be random in any way shape or form. My bet is these things are on cycles just like all the electrocoin shit.. Say for example there are 150000 programmed spins. And the random element of it is that it picks a number between 1 and 150000 and thats your spin. But the beauty is over these 150000 spins, the average payout is 90%
I dunno, who cares. I lost £600 in 2 days on these pieces of crap. £20 goes in less than a minute over an hour, theoretically you could lose £1200.
Think what the fat romanian c*** arcade owner is thinking.. he's laughing his way to the bank.

If I toss a coin, it's 50/50 heads and 50/50 tails. If I bet £1 on the result on a double or nothing chance, on average the game will return 100%.
If when I lose I get nothing, but when I win I only get £1.88 back instead of £2, I'm playing a random game with an average return of 94%.
There...easy peasy

Isn't it also set to % by the reels themselves. 1 Jp symbol on reel 1, 1 in 16, 2 symbols 2 in 16.
The one thing I can't work out is that one with all the 7's and O's. When you change the stake the % rises but the reels are reels, not video.
Gary said about this i'm sure on FF awhile back

On Party Games Slotto each reel POSITION is a separate decision, so 15 numbers are needed each game, plus some more if a feature is given.
On the 7's and 0's game (Fortune 500) the reel show the result of a background game. If you play a higher stake, the background game switches to a slightly more generous one in terms of percentage. The reels are just a means of showing the result, so they don't need to change as they can show any result the BG comes up with.

It actually works the same way as Slotto. If you check the reelbands; 0 or 7 can be represented independantly on each of the 12 (4 by 3) positions.
If you talk to the gaming board they're really not happy with back games that are not available to the player. Transparency is their buzzword.

13824 to 1?? That's pretty crappy odds..... Never realised it was that low.. Thanks Gary ---- Probably not going to play these things again now.

You're correct in what you say Sarky on F500, the reel bands can show every combo possible (easy when there are only two different symbols - if there were 3 you would need 27 stop reels or greater), but I still think there is a back game running. I've watched this being played quite a lot and you never see three noughts on the first reel. I also see instances where three of the reels (1,3 and 4 or 1,2 and 4) have all 7's, and the other reel all noughts, giving the player nothing or £10 (on 20 lines 10p or 20p a line). This happens a lot more than it would naturally, and is there to tickle the player along.
That said I do feel Reflex have made a good job of this and it shows that you don't need video reels to pull a decent game off.
