As the subject line says, I'm looking for a hopper drive board for my Cluedo Super Sleuth (M1B). It's the small red board with three connectors on it.

Mine has a couple of burned resistors and I don't know the value of them, so I can't do much with it at the moment.

If anyone can tell me the value of resistors R1 and R3 I'll have a go at repairing it. Failing that, anyone willing to sell me the complete board for a fair price?

Thanks for the info, but there's no M1 hopper drive board amongst tha lot

It's a small red board, 2" by 2" in size, and controls an Azkoyen (sp?) hopper.

ive just dismantled trivial pursuit for spares
as i did it i spotted a board that looks like the one your talking about

im not a fruit machine technician or nothing so ill give some info directly off the board i have

You're probably talking about the main M1B board, which is about 9 inches by 12 inches in size. If you're thinking of getting rid of it then let me know how much you want for it and we'll go from there. It wouldn't do me any harm having a spare

The little board that I'm after is only fitted to later M1B machines that had a hopper fitted. If your Trivial Pursuit had payout tubes, it wouldn't have had one of these boards.

Time for an update on this one....

I managed to get hold of another hopper drive board a few weeks ago, and used the parts values from it to repair my original. However, things are still not quite right....

If I drop some coins into the hopper and do a coin out test it will pay them out properly and count how many it's paid out on the display. If I close the door and use the machine normally, it just will not pay out....

If I dump the hopper then refill it with say £20 and play it, it will say "FLOAT = £20" or whatever when I turn the refill key. When it comes to collecting the bank I press collect and it just sits there for a minute without even spinning the hopper motor, then it says 'HOPPER EMPTY, £x TO PAY' on the display.

It obviously knows there's some cash in there as it reports the correct amount when I turn the refill key. Could it be something to do with the microswitch underneath the hopper bowl (at the back) which is pushed in when the hopper has enough weight of coins in it? It's a large Azkoyen 'U' hopper, the one with just a tiny PCB in the front.

And... it does this with both the new hopper drive board plugged in and with the one I repaired plugged in, so I don't think it's these that are causing the problem.

Anyone got any ideas?

this is a long shot but i remember a few years ago i was working on a bellfruit machine(i know yours is a maygay but it shouldn't be any different)and the machine was paying out fine in test but when i locked the doors and won something it failed to turn the hopper.

too cut a long story short the problem was the hopper dump switch inside the cashbox had a wire broken(i think theres only 2 wires on the maygay dump switch).

try checking this before getting any other parts replaced.

Cheers Baz, I'll have a look at it when I get the chance.

Sounds a bit unlikely to me but then I've only ever owned Barcrest machines before, so Maygays are still new to me.

I still think the microswitch under the hopper bowl is a possibility so I'll check that too.

Just out of interest, there's four wires going to the hopper dump button, as it's on the switch matrix the same as everything else.
