Ive just checked my emails and got this even though I dont have a paypal account on the address it was sent to, so its a scam, me thinks!!! (check out the bit which says "please give us 72 hrs to investigate". lol. what it should say is, "please give us 72hrs to clean out your account!

Looks like it is a scam. Especially when you dont even have an account, lol. Too many scams these days.

Also note the several spelling mistakes and grammatical errors.
To be honest I don't think paypal have ever or will ever send out e-mails like these. I was checking one the other day where when you go their site they actually ask for your credit card pin number . Now, even the stupidist person on the planet knows you don't give anyone that, not even the bank who issued it

your best bet is IF IN DOUBT CONTACT PAYPAL OR EBAY with the email it refere's and check and make sure if its been sent by paypal or ebay.

like i say if in doubt forward the email to paypal or ebay for it to be looked into

Something like that happened to my dad before and he emailed paypal and they mailed him back telling him that it was a scam.

bottom line is if you get an email like this its a scam, paypal and ebay know of these going about and so are highly unlikely to ever e mail asking you to click a link and fill in user and pass details.
so if you get one, ignore it

they have an address to email for such things

feck me....lol i just been sent yet another paypal scam email. i forwarded it straight to paypal for there investigation.

99.9% of the internet now is just spam and scams. Its very annoying.

I keep meaning to write a script that goes to their fake web sites, and repetetively fill in the forms with garbage, to flood the database with crap.

A better way to deal with all this is to install the eBay Toolbar - this gives very clear warning if you're on a site which is asking for either eBay or PayPal info, and you can immediately report with a single click...

I bought something off paypal 5 years ago..(scully on dvd if any of ya remember it....only 1:99 bargain) anyway on the 4th april this year someone got into my account robbed me card details and bought a laptop off e-bay with them for £715 it was quite a nasty shock....luckily i caught the transaction straightaway and it was stopped and i got my money back......PHEW!!!
