I have one for sale - I bought a spare for my Eastenders fruit machine.

I can post it off to you for £30.00 (which includes postage and packing).

please let me know if this is okay.

it would need to be for that price.

i managed to get me hands on a m1a board for £15 and a psu for £20 but when i went to robs house and tryed them in his monopoly machine we couldn't get the machine to work we changed both the board and psu and the machine still did the same as what the other board and psu already did. so i tend to think its the programme card and or the proms maybe f*cked. i will get dafish a programme card with a different game proms and try that.

OK, so Tried the following on this faulty machine.

New Battery (Cheers Baz)
New Motherboard
New PSU
New Program Card
(Cheers Lincs)

And still no luck, I still only get a 1x12v light and 1 5v light, the other 12v does not light.

Any other Ideas what it maybe? The machine gets not lights or life in it, althogh power is to all reels as the sensor lights come on...

the new card did have another set of proms but as dafish states it still does the same.

i can only assume its a loom fault within the cabinet.

everything else has been changed.

its a tricky 1 baz

May well be worth checking the connectors on the lead between the PSU and the MPU, as you can get loose pins that don't quite connect to the MPU/PSU.

Yeah, all the leads appear to be fine, however, it is not the origional connector on the PSU, so it would be great if somone had a picture of one connected to the psu so I can double check that whoever wired this thing up has done it all correct.

Just had a look at the power supply connector in my machine. Didn't realise it had been repaired before. I've took a couple of pics.

On a complete connector I think the fourth pin (after the brown wire) has a plastic piece in it so you can't get the connector the wrong way round.

Still think it's a bad connection. With the power switched off keep the connector on the PSU end plugged in (unplug the one from the MPU) and then on the PSU check the continuity between it (where the pins are soldered to the board) and the MPU end of the connector.

Could also try after, with the power off, the continuity between the connector on the MPU (plugged in) and where the pins are soldered to on the back of the MPU board.

i used to own the machine in question and i have resoldered the pins on the mpu so they are ok.

i sold the machine for £7 to make valuable space for new stock which was due in.

Dafish -

did you manage to have a look at your Monopoly Deluxe - have you got it working ?

Only reason is, LincsLeisure1 sold me his maygay PSU today as I'm having similar problems with my Eastenders (also maygay m1a).

Some of the lights seem to be extremely bright - see pictures below.

I'm getting the three bottom 'LED's staying on (on the m1a board) which is a good sign, but the machine will not play. This happened suddenly when some lamps just became very bright (and there was a burning smell coming from it).

I've attempted what was mentioned on this thread, i.e., testing connections with a multimeter, trying a different m1a card, a different program card, a different program card with my Eastenders PROMs inserted, trying a different PSU, and different voltage on the PSU (240V and 220V) but still not getting anywhere.

Does anyone have any other suggestions as this is a brilliant fruit machine and I desperately want to get it working again.

regards

Jason

jason, as i mentioned u really need to figure out where the burning smell came from (is there a noticable burn marks?) either on the m1a board or psu.

also is there any other pcb's within that vision cabinet??

that may be worth checkin out

Hi LL1

It was a long while ago when the machine first developed the fault - I can't remember where the burning smell was coming from unfortunately (I would have said the bulbs that are bright are melting the plastic bulb holders perhaps !!)

Although saying that the 2 thick black wires coming from the PSU look to have burnt their plastic casing - but this may always been like this, so not sure !!

I can get some more photos of the insides of the machine tomorrow.

cheers pal !

when the lights become brighter it usually means the triacs on the m1a board have either shorted or some have blown.

replacement m1a board will be the first thing to change.

he told me that he's changed the m1a board, he's also tryed another psu. but it seems to do the same thing. but it makes me wonder if there is another pcb within that vision cabinet.
