Isn't it about time we had vMFME4 incorporating MPU5 technology so what we can play all those nasty old (3 years and older) fruities that kept us skint for so long? What do you say chaps? About time ain't it? There must be hundreds of those dear old fifteen quidders just waiting to be emued.

Not currently possible. I've heard of work taking place on an MPU5 emulator, but it was effectively canned, due to some legal issues regarding cracking the protection in place, thats what I've heard from 2 people, so that may not be totally true in itself.

Basically it's going to be a long time until you see anything close to a working MPU5 emulator.

EPOCH on the other hand, is being *kinda* worked on at the minute... I say kinda, but it is possible there will be a good outcome at the end of the current work on it.

mpu5 wont be emulated till the tec is long gone other wise we would be able to play games just released and find out how they play then go find the real thing and drain it for its money or ppl would just play machine one the emulator and the manu will lose money so in about 5 years (me hoping) we might see it but i doubt it :)

Im not going to tell you you are talking bullshit, but i am. Please, there is no way you can drain a machine, even if you know exactly how the machine plays. It's impossible to know which part of its play cycle it's on etc etc. Most people know how to play machines anyway, the emulator would be no different. I play the emulators a lot, but i still chuck money in a machine when im out playing pool or whatever? There is a different kind of 'excitement' generated from it being real money. But we're not going to see an MPU5 emulator for a wee while so to those begging for one, why don't you go and code one yourselves?

im not gonna go have a go here ill say one thing though and that is that "if" a mpu5 emu came about could you imagen how pissed off the manus would be and they would 100% lose out on money thats all im saying is a mpu5 emu is not gonna be around for a LONG wile yet so who cares!

Who cares about the morally bankrupt manus who brought us the 'delights' of wallet-raping Section 16's.

Just distribute the emulations anonymously on Usenet, no comeback then !

Wouldn't even care if it was closed source/development, so that only three year old machines and over were released.

The FME scene is so boring at the moment, practically everything's been emulated already and there are so many great MPU5 machines that are over three years old and no longer available to play.

But then, I can't code so I can only hope.

those that know the why's and wherefores of why MPU5 hasnt been emulated aint posted yet but im sure they will in time.

It really isnt worth debating whether or not we should have said emulator as it has been discussed to death both here and at FF, just be assured that it aint gonna be coming about anytime soon and leave it at that

Lol if you knew it then why hiss? :)

WHEN MPU5 IS AVAILABLE, YOU WILL KNOW ABOUT IT.

I recommend everyone prints that out turns it into one of those 'motivational posters', sits it above their monitor, and waits until they turn older and wrinklier :)

jeasus dude you'v been told that there is an epoch emu being worked on??? is that not good enough??? also just had mfme3 which is a godsend for laptop users:D , we should appreciate the fact that there are still people with the motivation and go to try and keep the scene alive.........
your posts on your thread are doing the opposite...

I couldn't agree more moco; so why don't we set up a little corner of Fruit Emu for the army of ingrates out there that seem to reckon that the world owes them both a living and non-stop wall-to-wall ever-changing entertainment instead of either being thankful for what they've got or being arsed to do something themselves.

I'll start the ball rolling:

PROJECT No.1 : Build a fully working MPU5 Fruit machine from the following:

1. Any amount of reasonably fresh fruit.
2. No more than 5 cardboard boxes obtained from behind the checkouts at Sainsburys, Tesco, Asda etc.
3. Extraneous tubing/piping from appliances within 100 yards of where you live (legally acquired of course).
4. Wooden dowelling from the budgerigar cage.
5. Any amount of wire for uses various (including home-made springs)
6. There is no Number 6.
7. A 240v AC outlet of your choice.
8. Anything else not already mentioned that cen be filched either from the loft or the garden.
9. Lots of glue and paint.
10. Some of your own hard-earned pocket money to lose in your brand new machine.

You forgot this one....

11. Stop playing and wait for a granny to rape the machine of all its money

and an old RB favourite...

12. Stick a mouldy cabbage next to it for that authentic old granny smell
