I have to agree with dave1de on silent hill 2. Played the whole game on the Xbox & scared the hell outta me. I've played the complete silent hill series of games (1,2,3 & 4) & 2 is the scariest for me.

I have to agree on resident evil on ps1. only young, scared the shit out of me many times

i can remember playing resident evil 2 on my psx, it was about 2 in the morning, and i had my headphones on.... i believe it was the scene in the police station, when the dogs come crashing through the window..

I've never been 'scared' of TV/Game stuff. I mean maybe it was because I watched stuff like Childs Play when I was 7 [much to the dismay of my teacher at infants school ], and always found 'acted' horror to be... well... not scary?!

It is hard to explain, but I've NEVER been scared by a TV/Movie/VG... must be the predictable nature? Maybe if Resident Evil games had a fluffy bunny on the covers, I'd find them surprisingly scary?

Not quite the "scary" game that you're all talking about, but a couple of days ago I was playing FarCry, crawling through the jungle undergrowth on my belly as quietly as I could. I had already taken out a bunch of soldiers in this part of the jungle, but I suspected that there was another one moving about out there.

After a couple of minutes making my way quietly towards the temple ruins, I heard a sound just behind me to the left (5.1 Surround). As I turned to see if anything was there, there was a very LOUD single gunshot and I was dead.

I jumped so much I dropped the mouse!
Scared the Bejesus out of me.

F.E.A.R. What a scary game, i downloaded the demo last night, and as it now in the shops, just got back from GAME with a full copy, can not wait to play tonight.

The sound quality on this game is awesome, I am running it through a new DEMON 7.1 surround. and this makes my spine chill.

I agree with first post, you gonna need a meaty machine to play this, im running a p4 2.8 1gb Ram, Radeon XP800Pro 256mg. and i can get it maxed out playing at 1024*768. Tryed moving up resolution slightly but very jurky.

Oh and he other one that scares me shi*less has gotta be Zoo Tycoon 3........

Ha, i remember roller coaster tycoon use to make me jump out of my skin when a coaster crashed. Sitting there, browsing through your park as you do, then suddenly a massive explosion and a little window popped up showing you the crash.

just to let you know that i have just finnished the game fear and omfg what a game.

i wont spoil it for the people who are playing the game by telling what happens but it was the last 2 min of the game left that i got the story.

well its a thumbs up to monolith and sierra games from me
