As the title suggest's I need to add a tick to a box on a form that was sent to me.
I'm using MS Word and I have looked in 'add symbol' thinking there would be One....but nope! (or I can't see it)
Sorry to ask this on here, but it's real important I finish this today as the document has to be posted first thing tomorrow....and i'm totally stuck!
Any help totally appriciated...

Try changing your font to Wingdings.
I believe it is character code 252 or 254.
Hope this helps

Future Reference
The Tick = √
Is Located in the Insert Area in the tool bar Under Special Charaters
Its in the same In :
Microsoft Office
Aswell as The FREEWARE Version of Officeorg
Both the same But Officeorg has a much wider use of tools
I better stick to Officeorg.. Its always Updated

All you need to do is enable the control tool box and use either an option button or checkbox.
Why the fook would you want to go the whole way with active x when there is already one built in ??
Ps ady right click on the toolbars and left click on control toolbox, this will let you draw/place a tick box or anything else you want (within reason)
