Happy New Year everyone.
I've just hooked up my new 5.1 speakers and they have affected the sound on the MFME/MPU emulators (and the BFM too, but not the JPM emulator).
Through the back speakers some sounds play LOUDLY and through the other speaker some sounds play QUIETLY.
Has anyone else had this problem or is it to do with my setting up the speakers incorrectly? This phenomenon happens in other games too.
Hope someone can help, despite the hangovers.

Problem with new 5.1 speakers

This problem seems to be a hit and miss one. 5.1 sound works fine for some whilst not fine for others. I have a Soundblaster Live 24 Bit card and sound only works fine on the JPeMu emulator and if I remember correctly, on the BFeMulator.
I friend mentioned that he can switch his soundcard off and revert back to his onboard AC97 sound for playing the emulators then reverting back when he wants his 5.1 back. Not that straight forward for me as I have to physically remove the card to carry out the said method. For now, I just have to live with it.
You will notice with the sounds that are broken, if you gradually slow down the emulator, you'll eventually get to a point where the sounds play fine but the layout itself runs too slow. This points me to think that the samples are being played too fast when the layout is running at normal speed.
Sorry theres so little on the subject.

Thanks for replying.
I only have the AC97 and that's what I've attached the speakers to.
I have noticed this problem on other applications (older applications) such as Tomb Raider.
I have also noticed that on the speaker test, the fornt speakers are indeed quieter.
Could it be in some way that the 5.1 has not been set up correctly?
Also, I know that all the speakers CAN work properly with consistent volume, so it must be some software configuration, either with Windows or with the emulators themselves.
Hopefully, as the boys are clever, the boys are good, someone will be able to help.
Best regards,
