Oh, better clear that up.
Big Brother can't be emulated, it uses Barcrest MPU5 technology. Currently MPU3 and MPU4 can be emulated, MPU5 can't be***
*** it probably can but an emulator doesn't currently exist within the public domain, and I'm not aware of any public projects for emulating MPU5.
So basically don't hold your breath waiting for Big Brother, or any Barcrest machine since 1996.

For me, the JPMS of the late nineties were the best machines of their time.
The likes of Indiana Jones, Casino Crazy, Monopoly and my old favourite Rollercoaster made playing fruit machines fun. They were very fair to play and you used to get a really good run for your money too.
In early 2000's Mazooma had a cracking little run of fun & fair machines to play as well. They were mostly Rio cabinets found in bingo halls but the likes of Pacman, Tic-Tac X2, Linedancer, Shake Rattle n Roll were all great to play providing you played them right.
Nowadays the only Mazooma machines I enjoy playing are the Monopolies and Golden X's / Red Hot X's.
Machines nowadays are far too computerised and it's totally taken the fun out of playing them

Hard to choose, I was gonna go with Barcrest, Then I saw Red Gaming. Their machines are.. differnt, and easy money too. There used to be one in the cafe near me and they only ever emptied the bottom so the hopper was always almost full. It paid out alot

Most manufacturers have had their moments. I voted on the basis of what is around now. This minute. This instant. On that basis I have to congratulate Bell Fruit on finally making some decent machines which aren't based around rigid boring gameplay.
Not forgetting they did have some classics as well. Big Breakfast, Dr. Who, Del Boy, Make a Million, Cash Explosion....
