Hi,

i loved the software as i had it on my laptop and it worked fine but i have now sold that and built my own pc. When i come to open it up it takes like 4mins for the Credits to come up and then when i load a game that just completely freezes. Now i can not play :-(

In my pc i have the following:

AMD Athlon 64Bit 3200+
512mb Ram *Upgrading To 1Gb When It Comes In The Post*
80gb Hard Drive
256mb Ati 700x Pro Graphics Card

Please Help and let me be happy again :-)

its possible that your memory may be faulty. do all other apps work ok inc games???? when your new stip arrives try plugging that in on its own first to see if that sorts it. i had a similar problem last week with a new machine i built for a friend and it turned out to be the memory.

it may be somthing else and im sure that others on this forum will give some suggestions in due corse that may sort it.

it best not be the memory because i did have 1gb but ihsend 1 stick of 512mb because that was faulty.

ok i have managed to get 1 game working but it very slow, and when MSN Messenger comes uyp saying someone has signed in or when i get an email it then freezes again.

Really pissing me off the place i got my memory from.

mate i have the same problems and despite posts asking for ideas and advice, i still can not get version 2 or 3 to load. As you say it keeps freezing and hangs then says not responding.

I have been a member on this site for nearlly 3 years, and must have over 300 roms downloaded, but this has certainly baffled me.

Are you sure you don't have AC'97 sound? You can check in device manager. If so MFME 3.2 should do the trick.

as rarnold says, the first issue that it may be is linked to AC97 sound, any chance you could confirm as to whther or not you have this running on your system and then we can look at other possibilities

i also had a 3200xp 64 bit chip no so long ago but had no problems. the chances of it being the chip are very remote to not possible (unless very very old and too slow which yours aint) ill bet you money that your problem is unsuited (to your mobo)or faulty memory. do you have any other old sticks of memory kicking around that you could try, or maybe go into your bios and set the memory to run a little slower or increase the memory voltage (0.1 volt) to try and increase the system stability if it is a bit ropey. The fact that other apps on your computer are also playing up points to memory as well. the only other thing is your hdd, but again unlikely

maybe not games and messenger but it is a known problem with MFME and so its at least worth excluding it from the equation...step by step

You can spot those people who bother to actually check previous threads on these issues can't you Rarnold?...lol

The new drivers do not affect games or msn just fix the problem associated with MFME freezing.

and if you read the thread you will see that AC97 has a compatibility issue with MFME, it used to be that the latest drivers had the problem so you needed to roll back to older drivers to prevent it.

However new drivers were recently released that should solve that, hence the drivers page :D
