A little bit of trivia here.
As this thread is about nicknames,isnt it strange how some niknames come about?.
A mate of mine's initials are S.R and his nickname is Gibbs,can you guess the link?

i thought the S.R gibbs thing may have been to do with the beegees simon and robin gibb.

i got my nick when i was at college 6 years ago studing catering i needed a logon name for my college email and couldnt think of one so my bro said who's my fav dj and cause i was into happy hardcore at the time i went with d0uga1 from the bonkers era, the 0 & 1 are to replace A & L cause someone had already use dougal as a nick.

Yeah someone let me borrow a copy of Bonkers 3 when I was at school, probably Year 8 or something (about 1998?)... Quite liked Hixxy's mix on that. Shortly after that I only listened to Rock N Roll / Metal... but still have a soft spot for some bits from old Bonkers/Hardcore Heaven albums.

Weird really, never been to a club or similar, never really saw the appeal

I know this will make me sound old (30 this year ) but, it makes me laugh when people talk about happy hardcore and decent raves... Back in the early 90's it became more and more popular, with Fantasia, Dreamscape etc, one event every 3 or 4 months (Kinda like wrestling) then they got greedy and did stuff every week.

People used to say... have you heard this new track / mix.... and I'd say... yes... about 6 years ago lol


Best part about rave... (Dougal, Dy Sy, Master P, Grooverider etc) was the kids that said... listen to this... .this bits great.... (and it'd be a mellow part).

Strange how the best parts of rave music were samples from old records lol.

(think we should move this, but then, rave DJ's have nicks, so it relates)
