Hi,
I am a novice in fruit machine technical stuff!!! I want to fit a note changer to my Mpu5 BArcrest Austin Powers machine, i think it has already had a note changer fitted because it has a stciker saying this fruit machine has a 250 hopper since its had a note changer fitted (despite it now having a 125 hopper). How hard is this to do? Can anybody give me a step by step method from taking out the blanking plates? Also does anyone have the bits to put one in they wanna sell?
Cheers
Ed

I don't personally Ed, but there are many on here with their own machines that can either help, or point you in the right direction.
a 'few' techy people out there too.

adding a N/acc is very easy a loom will go from the aux port to the nv4/nv8 jcm any type
a nv4 would be the most easyest of them all probs with nv4 need some care as the do have alot of note jams
a nv8 is the same but with less probs this units can be set for a parallel line which you would use on a genesis or set for c/c(special) used on horizon and other c/c talk machines like bell fruit scorp5 and scorp4 with serial com line loom used
once the loom is fitted the machine will autodectet that a note acceptor is fix and change the floats to £250 from £125 please remember that your machine will not be dereg even with a note/acc as the software was not made for the machine only to be used as a change machine
any more info on this myself and baz and others would be happy to help;)

On the white 15pin connector is says: BAR/99598
REV 3 29/01
On the Mpu board the programmes module is 44094.
Checking the cable which is already there it is not plugged into the MPU board, but it has a bigger end does this just plus in the AUX point?

looks like verson 1 off the top of my head with that harness #
one is the 15 pin and the other i hope to hear is a a little bit smaller 12pins i think and all the wires go from end to end no ext wires hanging off
if so thats verson2 loom made for the nv4 unit

Right just recounted, the note changer end definately has 15pin white connector, the mpu end has a 15 pin connector (one hole sealed up so effectively a 14pin) and the mpu end plugs straight in the mpu not problems, there are no loose wires at all! So basically all i need is a nv4 note changer and plug both ends in and it should work automatically?

I seen picture of it now. I am confused at to how it will fit. There is a cash box in there but it looks like where the notes go in to the top of the unit is larger than the clearance available to the left of the cash tray!!
