i agree with you there james the mint is not as good as quizmainia but ive been watching it on itv2 and quizmainia prize money is not that good anymore as it used to. They are all £500 max prize money also they do alot of £100 £200 stuff, not that it used to be which is dissapointing. bring back the £1,000/£25,000.
Well obviously. I doubt as many people will watch it on ITV2 so the prizes have to be smaller. i doubt ITV2 has enough viewers during the night to be able to sustain giving away £20,000 - £50,000 a night.
Remember when Quizmania started, there were a lot of £250 games, then it became one looooong game with the £10,000/£25,000 prize once it had its regular audience, which it built up over 3 months. But The Mint is rubbish. I've no idea why they replaced Quizmania with a different show, yet kept Quizmania going. If they felt it wasn't doing the business, then scrap it alltogether and go back to showing repeats during the night. not bring in a 'new' programme which copies the old one, but has different presenters, ONE bigger prize, and crap presenters. It isn't a genre you can rebrand. Freshen up, yes, by introducing new games, but not rebuild from scratch.
Quizmania was a popular show IMO for those on night shift at work (it was never off the telly where i worked), or just in from a night out, and had a good balance of taking callers regularly, and humour. and it had the coolest cat in the world in Flash. The Mint, on the other hand, has studio guests...who wants a studio guest at 1am?! and a lot less callers, and a Jackpot which is unlikely ever to be won. Randomly guess four digits... it was hard enough winning the old jackpot on Quizmania!!
It's not in the same league as Quizmania and i for one would rather The Mint was on ITV2 and Quizmania back on the 'council telly'.
