yeah ithe bingo hall situation is a little bit different at the moment because of the members only situation but arcades are only allowed 4 section 16's but i alsso beleive that certain arcades have found a loophole that allows them more that 4.
i think it has something to do with having more that 1 area with machines in it.

we have 4 section 16's in ours at the moment but are buying a new one soon so we will see the law has changed by then.

My local arcade Clarence Pier in Southsea has a 4pl elvis, 4pl Megaslot and a vegas 500, another has a 4pl elvis, 2 Party Games Slotto, one reel King slotto. Another two PGS and one Random spinner and one Monkey Business. So do the 4pl still count as one machine even though there is more than one player station?

The new law isn't in effect yet. It's not scheduled to come into effect until September 2007 after the consultation process has ended. So there's likely another 18 months of the old rules left yet.

There is still no limit until the new rules come in but there will be a licence fee as from April hence the reason arcades will be ditching the dead wood and only keeping money makers. Where as now they would rather no one has to wait to get on a sec 16 machine and will get enough to cater for any rush they may have even though it might mean that the machines sit empty for 80% of the day they are now looking for people queing up to play the machines so they are tkaing money all day to pay the extra for the licence
