I have tried to use MFME but even though I download and extract a machines layout and roms when I open the layout it says that sound, roms etc are missing.

What am I doing wrong? Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

You are doing nothing wrong............some machines don't have the proper sound i'm afraid....

Just hit the start and this will disappear...then enjoy the layout.

It says both sound AND roms are missing, plus the machine does not even switch on.Tried both "Red Hot Roll" & "Take your Pick" and same thing happens.

When I extract the files do I just extract them to thier own folder, somewhere else or a combination?

ok I see now.....................yes the layout and ROM MUST be extracted to One (the same) folder...

Some downloads have the Layout and ROM combined, and as you have found some don't.

What I mean by that is do I extract the files to a new folder,an existing folder or do I extract one folder and then extract the other into it:-

e.g. Do I extract The rom zip into the layout folder (Which has already been unziped) or vice versa?

Or do I have to unzip to an MFME folder?

You can create any folder you like..............By default the layouts are usually saved to the original folder (mfme), but this will mean you have some 'complete' One and some 'split' Ones....

I suggest saving to a 'New Folder' on your desktop....mix the Layout and ROM then add to the default folder naming it as the machine and then adding to the Default.
