Hi Guys,

I think I know which Fruities I want to bring over to Canada. Question for all those technically able individuals.

Is it possible to alter the "coin mechanism" and "payout" parts of the machine to accept and payout a different currency?

As an example - a Canadian Quarter is fairly similar to a 10 pence piece - but not exact.

What are the options... if any at all?

Cheers lads

There are some places that will re-program coinmechs but taking canadian currency I am not sure about...

Try the following place in Stevenage & talk to DAVE: http://ice.dndservic...ndex.php/CID/59

depending on what mech it is the mech would need to be re-programmed to accept the new currency and on the old mechs the small e-prom would need to be changed or updated

and you would have to enquire about getting a hopper that would payout the correct currency as they are all different.

Most SR5 mechs can be reprogrammed yourself by putting it into teach mode. As for hoppers there is a little bit of tolerance with the coin sizes, eg a 20p hopper will spit out 1p coins no problem and a 2p hopper will pay 10p but to make a 10p hopper pay 2p coins you need to make the holes a bit bigger by removing the hopper bed and using a stanley knife blade and running it around the inside of the hole
