as of tommrow im getting a section16 machine, its a long story but basically im getting a £1200+vat machine for some £250 on the basis that i dont sell it for 6 months. its called boardwalk, a bit like red hot roll, but its only 2x2x2 thus a £200 jackpot. but it does sort of have a feature whereby the more cogs you get on the reels, the more you can win. apparently this IS the only machine that has its random number generator onboard.

perhaps garympu3/4 can shed some light on this??

I let you know more tommorow when it arrives.

cant see how its got the rng onboard and still remains a sec 16. One of the main rules regarding sec 16 is that the RNG is external to the machine and not fixed to it in any way except a connecting wire.

Any idea on who makes it? Sounds to me like it could be a CMS one as they are the only ones I know that use 2x2x2. IF this is the case and it has an internally generated RNG then there is a chance its MPU4 and may well run

I had this one in my local arcade, after about two weeks it got removed. It must have failed. I guess people prefer the Vegas 500, megaslot etc. This was replaced by a elvis standup. But this then got swapped for a elvis multiplayer.

its illegal to have a rng onboard.thats the whole point of the section 16/21 machines that they have a totally seperate rng situated outside the machine or down beside the cashbox(reflex machines).

baz

edit: or what gary said:)

i cannot see the point of having a section 16/21 machine. 1st of all it would bore me silly and 2nd if anybody was playing it i would shit bricks if it payed out the jackpot.

would you turn down a new machine for £250 (that you could sell on for more?)

as for the RNG, it is most definatly not an external box, but built onto the expansion card of the MPU4 controller. its made by COINWORLD. afaik deith leisure bought a job lot of these machines, and probably housed them in bingo halls somewhere.

were the rules for external RNG in place when this machine was built? there is a date on the not acceptor inside 31/5/05 so the machine has been released after this time. there is no date on the manual either.

as for the note acceptor, its the fastest ive ever seen! takes a £20 straight off you and immediatly credits you. surely this could been seen as bad, i.e. not double checking the note??

I think it will take a very long time for the high priced sec 16s to reach £250. But still-

Cashino 500, Elvis Top 20 and Rainbow Riches are around the same price (£5000-£7000 roughly)

But if you want to get a sec 16 at an average price, try Gamesoft's Monkey Business or Bell Fruit's Random Spinner (£3000-£5000 roughly).

Coinslot prices.

i was about to write probly never, but you wait 6 months when arcades will only be allowed 4 section16`s.. and they should be on sale every where, especially 3-4 player versions....

Is this an old Coinworld website?

It's one of the most surreal sites I've seen in ages :)

Looking back through it, I think it may be 10 years old...

Still, can't get over how bizarre it is.

I've played the one with the monkey face feature back in 1991/2 at smithys arcade in Cleethorpes. Was a crap machine though and it was tokens which I hated.

GaryMPU3/4 has been clever to point out that the mainboard is mpu4, and that opens up the possibilites of emulating it.

as per his request, ive taken some shots of the mainboard.

cheers gaz
