it sounds like the relay on the psu has a bad contact on it. the relay is within the power supply unit.

Hi

Well I am not a fruit machine engneer but i an a PC one and i am sure lincs will agree with me here you need to do here is buy a new PSU and replace it (lincs may be able to help you with that), allthough i have not seen inside a fruit machine for a while, I would assume the repleacemt is much the same as that of a PC one, you unplug all of the connections comming off or going into the PSU, remove the screws secureing it to the cabinet remove the PSU and reverse the process to replace. however if it has blown as with PC's ones it is possible that other damage to other componats has been caused.

yer that silver box thing (as u say) which is located at the side of the cashbox needs to be taken out then take the cover off and the relay which is on the pcb. the plastic cover needs to be taken off that and clean the contacts within it. but if u don't know what your doing then do not attempt to do it.

does it click just every couple of seconds or does it constantly click.

if it constantly clicks then its probably an mpu fault as i've had this a few times with epoch tech.

Could be a fuse blown in the psu
Well I jumped into the river
Too many times to make it home
I'm out here on my own, an drifting all alone
If it doesn't show give it time
To read between the lines

shouldn't cost much more than 35 quid if its a repair but if it needs replaced then maybe up to 50 quid.
