Why in God's name does limewire not work on my computer it just keeps saying we are still connecting to the limewire netewrok, once i left it and it did that for about 2 hours and i have broadband


anayone with any knowledge of limewire please help!!!!!!!

i've got it, it either means one of two things

1) your firewall is blocking the connection out, check tcp/ip settings especially if you use xp service pack 2

2) your name is gary glitter or your connection has been disabled by limewire.

how do i change the firewall so that it lets me use limewire

If your status is admin on your pc it should come up with a box saying alow/block conections to limewire. Loads of people geting fined for using limewire i would use something else if i where you or jsut wait til limewire quietans down.

ive never found limewire too fast to be honest... torrents work alot better..

or direct download links of course.

get hold of limewire pro from the torrents, I personally use limewire for individual songs and get great speeds, easily over 100kb/s

Anything else though and its Newsgroups, pisses all over torrents

All p2p programs can get you in the shite (add another Glitter pun here) if your not carefull with them, torrent is good but are you downloading exactly what you asked for ? some torrents have crap trackers which means the file isnt always what it says. Limewire also virus checks the files as when they are downloaded thanks to a generic AV plugin - bit torrent doesnt !!
