hey.
i appologise if there are hunderds of threads like this but i didnt know what to search for.
ill keep it short:
would you advise on buying a fruit machine for in the home as a bit of fun/money box????
basically it would be my 21st birthday present off my dad.
ive tried to think of pro's and cons and the main con is the fact i may get bored of the same game quickly but at the same time it may save me spending normally £20 per night out on a fruit machine
cheers

it all depends on what machine you buy.
once you get your first machine you will want to change it quite quickly if its not a good game or even get a second machine.

I bought my 1st machine and loved it. You do get bored of them so I would buy one with plenty of features and different things to do. When you do get bored do as I did and just sell it and get another. They are a great way to save money and make money if you invite your mates round.
I used to be schitzophenic but were ok now.

Yip. You may get bored but if you stick that £20 a night into your own fruit machine, you'll have the means to sell it off and buy a new one roughly once a week at that rate.
One thing it does do though is give you a little insight into how the things work. How the machine saves for hundreds of pounds and then dumps a large payout within just a few pounds. For me, seeing how they play ect... broke my addiction. Now, I just play the odd few pounds on real fruit machines. Sort of opportunist playing likes.
The downside though is that you are winning your own money. The big pull about real machines is that you could turn a fiver into a decent chunk of money. Someone elses money. Your own machine, the thrill of winning 'someone elses cash' isn't there but you still have stacks of fun playing though and it's a great way to save.

i actually live in Immingham but no one ever knows where that is.
ill let my dad know about this as ive found the auction, looked on the barcrest website and it looks like an interesting machine... only other thing is he has a mate that has a "cops and robber" for sale (not sure which one though im assuming theres loads) but im trying to have a look first as it may not have as many features as top dog.... im also tempted by a club machine but it may take me as month or 2 just to get enough money in there to even have the possibility of winning the jackpot

now u have told everybody on fruit emu what your buying it at then i wouldn't build your hopes up for much more than £150.
also as baz says if the lcd naffs up then u will have a cat in hells chance of getting a replacement lcd screen and u might end up selling it for less than £100
